Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS), located at the just south of Atlanta and is one of NASCAR’s premier motor-sports destination, featuring a completely reconfigured 1.5-mile high banks oval, the exclusive Club One and over 850 acres of multi-use entertainment options hosting over 200 annual events.  Our annual race schedule is headlined by the NASCAR Cup Series and the Feld Supercross Championships. In addition, AMS operates Legends of Georgia with over 40 dates of on-track short track activity each year.

The Atlanta Motor Speedway Field Marketing Internship is a paid promotional internship position in the Marketing and Promotion department that will provide hands-on grass roots marketing and promotional experience.  The Field Marketing team is a grass roots marketing group that is responsible for the implementation and execution of various races, fairs & festivals, community events, and activities in the greater Metro Atlanta area and throughout Georgia. Activities include interacting with customers and prospects, generating consumer leads and representing Atlanta Motor Speedway.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage displays and collateral at all events (including set-up and tear down)
  • Engage fans at events
  • Build database by getting fans to sign-up for giveaways
  • Document and prepare a detailed report of each event including estimated number of attendees, amount and type of collateral distributed, etc.
  • Team members will submit a final review which will include an overview of each event, the success of each event, and suggested changes to make the program more successful and provide ideas, contacts, suggestions on program improvement
  • Become an educated brand ambassador by developing and maintaining knowledge of AMS and various key racing personalities.
  • Be the outgoing personality that captivates an audience
  • Approach strangers and interact in a natural conversation
  • Identify future events to participate in while speaking with fans.
  • Assist in the general marketing efforts of the Speedway.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:  
  • Currently enrolled or recently graduated from a four-year College/University
  • Passionate about sports, motorsports and/or sports marketing
  • High integrity and confidentiality
  • Result oriented and creative
  • Possess strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, written, and verbal skills
  • Innovative thinker and self-starter with perseverance to lead teams to success
  • Promotional experience is a plus
  • Local market knowledge is a plus 

CONDUCT:  
  • Maintains high level of energy during entire duration of shift
  • Must be able to work exceptionally well with others in a close team environment
  • Charming and outgoing attitude during shifts
  • Must be polite, courteous, and treat all consumers respectfully regardless of the situation
  • Must comply with local, state, and federal law
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time during long drives in an AMS vehicle
  • Must be able to stand and remain mobile for extended periods of time during events
  • Must treat the company assets with care at all times.

WORK HOURS: 
  • Must be available to work weekends as well as some overnight trips
  • Must have a flexible schedule
  • Must be willing to work unusual hours

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to see and hear in the normal range with or without correction and communicate verbally and in written form with great facility and must be able to be understood.
  • Must have the stamina to work long hours and must be willing to work an irregular schedule, which may include weekends or evenings.
  • Work outdoors requires physical strength and stamina to endure extreme heat, cold, rain and other conditions.
