WHAT YOU’LL DO

This role sits within Business Solutions, the software and applications arm of Penske Entertainment’s enterprise IT function. The team builds and owns the application, data, and technical solutions the company runs on, supporting everything from accounting, HR, and ticket sales to INDYCAR engineering and on-track data. Business Solutions is organized into a few groups that work closely together on shared problems: full-stack developers, data engineers, analysts, and digital content, compliance, and financial systems specialists. While this manager partners across the entire team, they own technology project delivery and act as the glue between Business Solutions and the rest of the company.

To give a sense of the scope this role helps plan and deliver: rebuilding IMS.com and INDYCAR.com; shipping multiple event mobile apps; building an in-house mobile solution for access control and walk-up sales; partnering with FOX Sports on world-class broadcast viewing experiences and with NTT on cutting-edge fan-experience and AI projects; and delivering live INDYCAR timing & scoring data to fans and teams across multiple channels. All of it has to ship on schedule, against real event deadlines that don't move.

The Manager, Technology Projects & Delivery leads the planning, coordination, and execution of technology projects across Penske Entertainment, with a focus on software development efforts, company websites, and cross-department initiatives.  It builds strong relationships with stakeholders across nearly every business unit and translates their needs into clear scope and deliverables and keeps work moving through the development teams.

This is a hands-on, data-driven role. Beyond coordinating the work, this manager is expected to personally dig into the data as needed to support the project team, answer questions for end users, and validate that what gets built actually works. The role also performs application and software testing across projects and supports end users directly during rollouts. Strong, practical data-analysis ability is a must; this is a project manager who contributes to the work, not only oversees it.

Beyond running individual projects, this role helps set the direction for how the company adopts new technology. It champions digital transformation, finds opportunities to improve and automate manual processes, and leads responsible adoption of AI tools that make the broader team more capable and productive. The role also provides direct support to the Vice President, Business Solutions across planning, organization, and execution, helping turn strategy into action and keeping a wide portfolio of work organized and on track.

The ideal candidate is an organized, communicative, and people-oriented leader who is equally comfortable being hands-on (analyzing data, testing software, and supporting users) as they are managing many efforts at once. They build trust quickly across a diverse group of stakeholders and serve as a steady partner to both the team and company leadership.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Project & Delivery Leadership:

  • Drive software, website, and multi-department projects end to end, including scope, delivery cadence, resource planning, risk management, and transition to operations
  • Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives; support day-to-day task prioritization across the team
  • Define and maintain the project prioritization process and technology roadmap, balancing competing requests across departments
  • Track and report project budgets; manage RFP and build-vs-buy analysis; manage external contractors and vendors to agreed milestones
  • Establish and maintain clear communication among all project stakeholders through demos, sprint reviews, and documentation
  • Use data to answer project questions and validate that what gets built is correct
  • Perform application and software testing (functional, regression, and user-acceptance), including triaging and verifying defects
  • Support end users during and after rollouts, troubleshooting and gathering feedback
  • Communicate trade-offs, risks, and timeline impacts proactively

Business Relationships & Change Management:

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external partners
  • Act as business analyst and translator between business needs and technical solutions
  • Lead Organizational Change Management activities for new processes and features
  • Oversee training and documentation for new business processes and features
  • Champion digital transformation, identifying opportunities to automate and improve manual processes, including practical AI use cases that make the team more productive
  • Identify and champion AI Agent use cases

WHAT YOU BRING

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5+ years of project management experience in a technology environment, ideally including software and web delivery
  • Hands-on data analysis is a must-have: able to independently work with, manipulate, and interpret data in Excel, Power BI, or a similar end-user analytics tool to answer project questions, support the team and end users, and validate that what gets built is correct (SQL or query experience a plus)
  • Experience performing application and software testing (functional, regression, and user-acceptance testing) and clearly documenting defects
  • Proven ability to manage a large portfolio of concurrent projects and keep many stakeholders aligned
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills; adept with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong working understanding of agile delivery
  • Demonstrated interest in digital transformation and a track record of driving technology and process adoption
  • Affinity for AI tooling and a clear point of view on how it can improve team productivity
  • Comfortable being genuinely hands-on alongside developers and data professionals; able to contribute to the work, not only coordinate it
  • High integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

  • Broader experience manipulating and transforming data using tools such as SQL, Power Query, Power BI and DAX, Excel, or Tableau
  • An appreciation for quality user experience and an eye for good design, especially on website and application projects
  • Experience supporting end users or providing front-line application support
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting best practices
