WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Truck Driver plays a key role in the success of the Grand Prix of Arlington. In this position, you’ll be responsible for loading in, transporting, and loading out our show car and display across various locations. Our show car is a vital promotional asset for the race, helping drive awareness and visibility throughout the DFW area. You will be essential to all movements and will work closely with our internal team to ensure everything runs smoothly.

In this role, you’ll contribute to delivering top-tier experiences to fans, partners, and teams across DFW. You’ll take ownership of important responsibilities, collaborate across departments, and bring energy and reliability to a fast-paced, highly visible environment.

                                            

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive truck and 24 ft. trailer from event to event and between designated locations
  • Inspects truck and trailer for defects before and after each trip and submits condition reports as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and cleanliness of the truck and trailer.
  • Responsible for loading, unloading, and securing all trailer contents.
  • Regularly inspects engine, maintains fluid levels, and services engine when necessary.
  • Assists in maintaining event equipment, including but not limited to golf carts, tuggers, barriers, awnings, and other assets.
  • Maintains a record of expenses and submits receipts and reports as necessary for reimbursement.
  • Represents the Grand Prix of Arlington professionally while traveling, always demonstrating courtesy and excellent customer service.
  • Maintain enthusiasm for and commitment to the company and the Vision, Mission and Values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of truck and trailer experience.

Education:

  • High school graduate or GED. 

Leadership:

  • This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

FLEXIBILITY & TRAVEL

  • Non-standard working hours, with early mornings, late nights and evenings required
  • Extended hours required during key event periods (Now - March)
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential for success in this role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, driving, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfort working in and around event noise, moving vehicles, and high-traffic areas.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Fast-paced, collaborative environment involving both on-site event operations and travel throughout the DFW area.
  • Frequent outdoor work during load-in, load-out, and event activation.
  • Regular interaction with staff, partners, and event personnel.
  • Employee must be able to multitask, adapt to frequent interruptions, and remain attentive in fast-paced event environments.
