Headquartered in Glendora, Calif., NHRA is the primary sanctioning body for the sport of drag racing in the United States. NHRA presents 23 national events featuring the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series. NHRA provides competition opportunities for drivers of all levels in the NHRA Summit Racing Series and the NHRA Drags: Street Legal Style presented by AAA. Join our team as the Business & Ticketing Manager, working alongside the Lucas Oil Raceway Marketing and Operations staff, as we get ready for an exciting 2018 season.

At Lucas Oil Raceway, we host over 100 days of track activity between our famous ¼ mile drag strip and our 7/10 mile oval track.  This year’s drag racing schedule includes popular events such as, two Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events, the Ultimate Callout Challenge, and the 64th Annual Chevrolet Performance Parts U.S. Nationals, as well as many other exciting events. In addition, our oval track features a number of events, including USAC’s Carb Day Classic, as well as ARCA and Red Bull Global Rally Cross events.  Our schedule continues to grow and we are looking forward to having a Business & Ticketing Manager join our team as we kick off the 2018 season.

Reports To: Vice President, Track Operations & Management

Full-time Position

Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5p.m.  Due to the nature of our schedule and track activity, the Track Manager must be able to work event weekends and holidays throughout the entire event schedule.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs all essential functions of the Business & Ticketing Manager role:

    • Greets and assists all guests at the track, giving great service and going the extra mile every time

    • Manages the operational procedures that control and account for ticket sales, managing the processes by which the track collects, tracks, documents and reports business revenues and expenses.

    • Supervise and schedule ticketing staff, gate operations staff, waivers staff and volunteer groups for all track events.

    • Establish systems to recruit, hire and train event employees for Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.

    • Work in coordination with the General Manager to oversee the responsibilities of the front-desk receptionist.

    • Maintain ticketing, credential, and waiver systems, inventory, supplies and equipment.

    • Produce regular financial reports that detail actual event revenues.

    • Control the accountability, collection, tracking, reporting and documentation of all revenues.

    • Develop accounts payable procedures for invoice tracking, documenting, reporting and approval for payment.

    • Generate financial reports that detail expenses, revenues and margins post-event.

    • Provide office management assistance to the General Manager as needed.

    • Work with the NHRA IT department and manage on-site information technology and computer systems.

    • Manage all employee applications, waivers and credentials.

    • Manage payroll timekeeping database by inputting job codes and correcting employee coding.

    • Work with Lucas Oil Raceway General Manager and colleagues to develop the Annual Budget, along with Capital and Staff requisitions.

    • Verify, facilitate, document and report all competitor payouts.

  • Maintains a high degree of accuracy, timeliness and consistency in all work
