POSITION TITLE: Editor
DEPARTMENT: IMS Productions - Content
REPORTS TO: VP of Production & Development
POSITION LOCATION: Indianapolis
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Editor position works with staff Producers, Videographers, and other colleagues to edit client projects ranging from :30 broadcast commercials to two-hour documentaries to short-form web video projects. 


SPECIFIC DUTIES:             
  • Assists fellow editors with AVID and other non-linear work-flow practices.
  • With the IMS Productions staff and leadership, provides production support to the company and its clients.
  • Edit long and short form programs and other materials for use by clients as assigned by IMSP leadership.
  • Responsible for interacting cordially and professionally with clients, as well as following-up with clients to ensure the project is completed to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and/or hardware as well as software used in the industry
  • Additional duties assigned by IMSP leadership

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in radio/television or communications
Skills/Experience
  • 5 years’ experience in the video industry, specifically editing video projects
  • Requires extensive knowledge of the equipment used in our facility, specifically AVID/related storage systems and the ability to stay current with the latest trends and/or hardware as well as software used in the industry
  • Proficient in working with different video file types/transcoding.
  • Proficient in integrating motion graphics and music into edit projects.
  • Must be able to interface cordially and professionally with clients
  • Ability to work independently and be a self-starter

Travel/Work Hours
  • This position requires flexibility due to being part of an event driven business. This will require working extended hours as business demands, including nights and weekends.
  • Some travel will be expected. Up to 20%.
