Manager, Warehouse & Logistics

The Manager, Warehouse & Logistics is responsible for the daily operations of the Las Vegas Grand Prix warehouse and distribution activities. This includes but is not limited to the following: material distribution to and from LVGP venues, inventory management, vendor management and communications, and warehouse building operations. This position contributes to the overall LVGP event management plan and interfaces with both internal and external customers to ensure event objectives are met or exceeded. The candidate will exhibit and promote the core LVGP values and priorities while providing leadership to staff, contractors, and vendors during the event. The candidate must be willing and able to travel as needed. The Manager, Warehouse & Logistics must reside in the Las Vegas, NV area for the duration of the employment.


Warehouse Management
  • Lead and manage all aspects of LVGP warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and order fulfillment.
  • Work in conjunction with other LVGP departments to develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures in order to maintain accurate counts of all items in the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy of counts and storage locations.
  •  Develop and implement policies and procedures for warehouse operations.
  • Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and efficiency within the warehouse. Ensure implementation and execution of LVGP’s safety plan for warehouse operations.
  • Manage relationships with external entities and providers to include the following: property management company, temporary staffing agency, material handling equipment vendor, waste management vendor, LPG vendor, HVAC services vendor, racking vendor, electrician, floor cleaning vendor, etc.
  • Update the warehouse budget as needed. Assist with the tracking of actual spending for all warehouse related costs.
  • Ensure all warehouse spaces are consistently maintained, with clear aisles, properly staged materials, and adherence to cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Other warehouse duties projects, and events, as assigned.
Distribution Management
  • Plan and coordinate goods transportation to and from LVGP venues using both LVGP fleet vehicles and a third-party transport company.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for LVGP’s third-party transport company.
  •  Track and analyze transportation metrics to identify areas for improvement and cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and industry standards.
  • Update the distribution budget as needed. Assist with the tracking of actual spending for all distribution-related costs.
  • Other distribution duties, projects, and events as assigned.

Event Readiness & On-Site Execution
  • Provide on-site operational support during construction milestones, venue prep, load-in, show days, and load-out.
  • Manage pre-event planning of assigned commodities.
  • Serve as an additional support role for site operations initiatives when workload allows.
  • Assist Director with zone and BOH build and dismantle.
  • Assist with general site readiness, field coordination, and operational issue resolution as directed.
Qualifications
  • Warehouse experience and event operations experience are required
  • Planning and project management skills
  • Excellent communications skills – verbal, written, and presentation
  •  Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Budget management
  • Understanding of OSHA compliance and standards – OSHA-10 Hour certification required or willing to complete within 60 days of hire
  •  Valid driver’s license and comfortable driving cargo vans and box trucks
  •  Forklift experience required – must provide certification within 60 days of hire
  • Ability to handle stress and pressure while presenting a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Solid computer/database and clerical skills - proficient in MS Office products
  • Ability to travel regularly between LVGP venues, warehouses, and job sites to support operational needs 
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that accommodates nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak operational windows  
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  •  Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Ability to move, traverse, or work atop uneven surfaces, construction areas, or elevated platforms
  • Ability to maintain physical stamina during extended periods of movement or manual tasks. 
  • Ability to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolding, or equipment.
