JOB TITLE: Director of Operations
REPORTS TO: General Manager
SUMMARY
Located in the vibrant Atlanta Metro area, Trilith LIVE is designed to host concerts, rehearsals, live audience productions, conventions, corporate meetings, performing arts, tradeshows, exhibitions, special events, and so much more. Spanning 530,000 square feet, Trilith LIVE features a 2,800-seat theater, 50,000 square feet of sound stages, multi-purpose meeting rooms, support space, dressing rooms, green rooms, production offices, suites, wardrobe, audience holding areas, outdoor plaza areas, full-service catering and concessions, box office, and a 730-space parking deck.
Trilith LIVE is seeking an accomplished venue professional for the Director of Operations position. The Director of Operations manages, supervises, and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the venue, including, but not limited to, maintenance, repair, set-up/changeover, facility systems, custodial/housekeeping, landscaping/grounds keeping, equipment, and capital projects. The position also provides strategic and highly responsible support to the General Manager, including coordination of key initiatives and facilitation of organizational priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keeps the mission, vision and values of Trilith Live at the forefront of decision making and action; builds strategic and collaborative relationships and interacts with others in a way that builds confidence and trust; provides excellent customer service by taking action to accomplish objectives, maintains high levels of work and productivity by generating innovative solutions to work situations.
- Provides overall administrative planning, direction, and policies to the operations team, assuring cost-efficient operations by controlling the departmental operating budget.
- Oversee maintenance of the physical plant, systems, and equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life health safety, workplace safety, pest control, custodial services, etc.
- Develop and administer the facility’s operations budget; forecast of additional funds needed for equipment, materials, and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures; implement adjustments as necessary; recommend a capital budget for 1-year, 3-year, and 5-year long-range repairs and improvements to the facility.
- Coordinates and oversees special projects, such as construction, remodeling, repairs, and improvements.
- Oversee the operation of event set-up and tear-down.
- Negotiates, prepares, and manages vendor/contractor service agreements.
- Direct and monitor the work of contractors, engineers and architects on building projects.
- Provides yearly inventory of all equipment.
- Manage, select, train, motivate and evaluate staff.
- Develop management reports and manuals (i.e. Operations Manual, Annual Preventative Maintenance Plan, Annual Operations Report).
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, facility stakeholders and facility users.
- Serves as MOD (Manager on Duty) as required.
- All other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Trilith LIVE’s policies and applicable laws.
- Managing subordinate managers who supervise employees within the department.
- Includes interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with General Manager, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university required; additional experience may be substituted for education.
- Minimum 7 years of management experience in facility operations in a similar event venue.
- Demonstrated knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, and requirements for the types of events at the facility.
- Knowledge of budget preparation and control.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work independently.
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements.
- Strong computer skills in Windows environment and MS Office applications. Training on industry software will be provided.
