Position Overview:
The Graphic Designer will work directly with the Sr. Graphic Designer on the support and execution of the visual identity and its production related to TrackTown USA’s portfolio of events. This position will help develop and provide graphics, layouts, and visual content for TrackTown USA, The Prefontaine Classic, the World Athletics Under 20 Championships Oregon 26, and other assigned events. The Graphic Designer will manage seasonal production support staff responsible for application of design work, as well as a design intern.
Reporting Lines:
EMPLOYEE will report to and be supervised by the Sr. Graphic Designer (EMPLOYEE’s Supervisor). EMPLOYEE will be accountable to project lead projects to which EMPLOYEE is assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
This position is primarily responsible for the following duties:
1. Develop graphics, layouts, and visual content for print, digital, and other media. This includes, but is not limited to, crating social media graphics, website elements, marketing materials, and event branding elements.
2. Adjust images, select fonts, and format text to align with design guidelines and established brand.
3. Assist in brainstorming and developing creative ideas for design projects, including, but not limited to, stadium dressing, merchandise design, and digital elements.
4. Prepare artwork for print, packing, and/or digital delivery.
5. Source, collaborate, and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure best materials, pricing, and deliverables for projects.
6. Manage projects and timelines with external vendors to ensure on-track asset delivery.
7. Manage seasonal production support staff for installation, setup, and teardown of assets for events.
8. Manage seasonal design intern, providing assignments and feedback to ensure design deliverable expectations are met.
9. Maintain communication with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders for the production and handoff of deliverables.
10. Receive and implement feedback from Supervisor and/or internal stakeholders to refine designs and ensure quality.
11. Work closely with Sr. Graphic Designer, colleagues, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and contribute to the design process.
12. Create effective operating plans for assigned functional areas, programs and venues for assigned events.
13. Deliver projects that meet (and hopefully exceed) the expected results on time and within budget.
14. Establish, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on assigned projects.
15. Recruit, train and manage the people necessary to deliver assigned projects.
16. Developing and managing effective client relationships.
17. Developing and managing effective supplier relationships.
18. Providing leadership, management, motivation, and support to assigned project teams.
19. Being responsible for all assigned project budgets from start to finish.
20. Overseeing applicable contracts and payment schedules.
21. Ensuring excellent customer service and quality delivery.
22. Working all hours assigned, including weekends and holidays if necessary.
