TrackTown USA is seeking an Athlete Village Assistant to provide support to the Athlete Village team and resident services while advancing TrackTown USA’s mission to make Eugene, Oregon the premier track and field destination in the world.
TrackTown USA, Inc. is a non-profit organization committed to setting a standard of excellence in hosting premier track and field events, creating a supportive environment for elite athletic performances, being a leader in sustainable sport practices, and inspiring the next generation of track and field athletes and fans. The organization was responsible for organizing the 2014 IAAF World Junior Championships, the 2015, 2022, 2023, and 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships, the 2016 IAAF World Indoor Championships in Portland, and the 2016, 2020, and 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials—Track & Field. In partnership with USA Track & Field, the organization brought the 2022 World Athletics Championships to the United States for the first time. TrackTown delivers the Wanda Diamond League’s recurring Prefontaine Classic, recognized as one of the world’s best track and field meets.
In 2026, TrackTown USA looks forward to once again hosting The Prefontaine Classic, as well as welcoming the world to Oregon for the 2026 World Athletics U20 Championships Oregon 26.
Position Overview
The Athlete Village Assistant is a contract, games-time role (July 30 - August 10, 2026) that will provide support to the Athlete Village team and resident services. The Athlete Village for Oregon 26 will serve as the housing, dining and activity hub for the World Athletics U20 Championship athletes and team officials. In addition to providing the sleeping and eating amenities, the Athlete Village will also offer activity areas that allow for interaction between the athletes, entertainment during downtime, personal brand-building, and relaxation/self-reflection. While ensuring the athletes are given everything they need to perform at the highest level, the Village also provides a chance to show world-class hospitality to individuals from diverse cultures and social backgrounds by creating a “home” for them during their stay.
Reporting Lines
The Athlete Village Assistant will report to the Athlete Village Manager.
Primary Responsibilities
· Provide operational support to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient daily functioning of the Athlete Village and resident services
· Monitor daily and nightly activities of Athlete Village residents to ensure adherence to Village rules and safety protocols at all times
· Document and report any incidents/issues that occur during a shift, and provide a daily shift briefing to the Athlete Village Manager
· Work directly with UO Housing staff to serve as cultural navigators and crisis responders, connecting residents in need to emergency services and/or professional staff
· Act as a friendly point of contact for Athlete Village residents to provide information, resolve issues and ensure a positive experience
· Live-in position tasked with creating a welcoming and festive environment for athletes from diverse backgrounds
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· Preferred to be a University of Oregon or other local college enrolled student (Graduate, Under-Graduate, Degree Seeking)
· Must pass a Background Check & University Housing Conduct check
· Hold a Valid Driver’s License
· Strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals visiting from all over the world
· Ability to handle, and adapt to, changing schedules and high-pressure situations
· Working collaboratively with volunteers, staff and organizers of different backgrounds and identities
· Ability to perform manual labor if needed, including lifting bags (up to 15 pounds)
· Commitment to maintaining confidentiality
Additional Responsibilities
The Athlete Village Assistant will be given additional tasks, not previously mentioned, which are needed to maintain the success of the World Athletics U20 Championships Oregon 26, or as directed by the Athlete Village Assistant’s Supervisor.

· Dates: Arrival to Eugene on July 30, 2026 and departure on August 10, 2026
· Location: Eugene, Oregon
· What we provide: Lodging, meals, event access to the World Athletics U20 Championships, and hourly wage plus overtime for 8 hours/day (Daytime shift or Evening Shift)
Individuals are responsible for transportation to and from Eugene.
