Full Time Internship/Externship. The position will be a full time, paid internship; however, we are able to accommodate for-credit externship opportunities if desired by the applicant and permitted by their respective institution. The Legal Intern/Extern will report directly to Superlative’s Executive Director of Legal and Client Services.

Location

Cleveland, Ohio. This is NOT a remote position – physical presence in Superlative’s Cleveland, OH headquarters office is required.

Requirements

Must possess a Bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in and actively pursuing a Juris Doctor at an accredited law school in the United States; must be entering their 2L or 3L year
Strong research, writing, and organizational skills are required
Must be a creative, solutions-oriented individual
Strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization
Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the organization across all businesses
Must be a self-starter and be comfortable working independently
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to coordinate projects from development through completion
Meticulous attention to detail
High level of personal integrity and professional ethics

Job Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and drafting of commercial agreements, including, without limitation, Superlative’s representation agreements, naming rights agreements, presenting sponsorship agreements, category partnership agreements, pouring rights agreements, and premium seating agreements
Research, analyze, and write on a variety of legal areas including, without limitation: contracts, corporate, real estate, intellectual property, and employment and labor
Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations
Assist in responding to RFPs
Support all Superlative legal department efforts as required
Strategize with the Executive Director of Legal and Client Services to find innovative solutions to continually improve the Superlative legal department
Working alongside other departments within the company as needed
Performing contract management tasks and management of legal files
Other responsibilities as assigned
