Position Summary

The Portland Winterhawks are seeking a highly motivated and creative Coordinator, Content & Communications to join our front office team. This role will play a key part in telling the Winterhawks’ story, engaging fans across multiple platforms, and supporting the club’s overall content, design, and broadcast production strategy. The Coordinator will be responsible for creating impactful digital content, producing graphics and video, and assisting with broadcast production to strengthen the Winterhawks’ brand and fan experience.


Key Responsibilities

Content Creation & Digital Media

·       Plan, create, and publish engaging photo, and video content for the Winterhawks’ website, social media channels, newsletters, and other digital platforms.

·       Collaborate with the marketing and creative teams to ensure consistent brand voice and messaging across platforms.

·       Assist with production of features, and other editorial content.

·       Support live coverage of Winterhawks games and events, including in-game social media updates.

Graphic Design (Still & Motion Graphics)

·       Design digital and print graphics to support team initiatives, marketing campaigns, and game presentation.

·       Produce motion graphics, animations, and video elements for social media, and Victory+ broadcasts. Coordinate with the Senior Manager of Entertainment and Events for in-arena presentation

·       Create templates and visual assets that maintain brand consistency across platforms.

·       Work with corporate partnerships and ticketing teams to fulfill graphic and video requirements.

Broadcast Production

·       Support the setup, operation, and breakdown of home game broadcast productions.

·       Coordinate with broadcast partners and in-house staff to ensure high-quality production standards.

·       Assist in producing intermission features, highlight packages, and shoulder programming for Winterhawks broadcasts and Victory+ streaming platforms.

·       Operate cameras, graphics, replay systems, or other technical elements as assigned.

·       Collaborate with announcers, producers, and game presentation staff to integrate content seamlessly into live broadcasts.

Fan Engagement & Community Outreach.

·       Support promotion of community initiatives, team events, and special theme nights.

·       Collaborate with internal departments to amplify marketing campaigns and ticket initiatives.

Game Day & Event Support

·       Assist with content, design, and broadcast coverage at all home games, select road games, and team events.

·       Contribute to the execution of live digital, broadcast, and in-arena elements.


Qualifications

·       Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, broadcast production, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).

·       1–3 years of experience in content creation, digital design, or broadcast production (sports industry experience preferred).

·       Strong design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro).

·       Experience creating still graphics, motion graphics, and video content for digital and in-arena use.

·       Familiarity with live video production, streaming platforms, or in-game broadcast systems preferred.

·       Strong writing and storytelling skills a plus.

·       Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the hockey season.

·       Strong organizational and communication skills and ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
