POSITION SUMMARY
The Volunteer Program Intern (“Mavrk”) will work closely with the Volunteer Coordinator and tournament staff to gain experience and exposure in a variety of areas related to event management, on-site logistics and volunteer program management. This role supports the recruitment and training of more than 500 volunteers, across two LPGA and three LIV Golf events
Events could include:
- Kroger Queen City Championship – May 14-17
- Shoprite LPGA Classic – May 28-31
- LIV Golf Louisiana (LA) – June 25-28
- LIV Golf New York (NJ) – August 6-9
- LIV Golf Michigan – Team Championship (MI) – August 27-30
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys the multi-faceted world of event operations – detail orientation, organization, deadlines, problem solving and multi-tasking.
The right candidates must be willing to travel, work efficiently under pressure, balance multiple responsibilities across various events, and possess a strong work ethic. Attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and a commitment to “Every Experience Matters” are required for these positions.
Please note: Events are held outdoors (rain or shine), and all phases of these events (set-up, build and tear down) will require long workdays outside in temperatures/conditions consistent with each events location/season
RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES
- Support the day-to-day management of the volunteer programs for upcoming Outlyr LIV Golf events
- Manage recruitment and coordination of volunteers
- Engage with community stakeholders and partners to promote volunteer opportunities
- Support training of volunteers, as needed
- Assist in organizing and maintaining volunteer schedules
- Provide ongoing support and communication with volunteers
- Aid in planning and executing volunteer events including uniform distribution
- Provide onsite support to volunteers
- Respond to general event inquiries, including dates, schedules, and ticket information
- Coordinate and implement projects independently with minimal supervision
- Assist with the set-up, organization, and management of all Volunteer HQ operations
- Perform additional tasks and projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive study in a related field
- Previous event experience a plus
- Polished communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong ability to demonstrate initiative, solve problems and work effectively under pressure while working as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Collaborative in nature with “no job is too small” mentality
- Must be available to work full time in the Dallas, TX market
- Willingness to work weekends and nonstandard hours
- Interest in sports marketing and event management as a career
