OVERVIEW | MAVRKS
Outlyr is seeking a motivated, hardworking, detail-oriented individual with a strong interest in event management to join the Outlyr Event Management Intern Program (referred to as “Mavrks”). This role will support the planning and execution of multiple Outlyr events across various professional golf tours – including LPGA Tour and LIV Golf Tour at various dates throughout 2026. The Connecticut team will be hiring one (1) Mavrk position in 2026. Events could include:
- Shoprite LPGA Classic (NJ) – May 29-31
- LIV Golf New York (NJ) – August 6-9
The Mavrk will work closely with tournament staff to provide long-term coordination and day-to-day support across key functional areas, including Operations, Volunteers, Special Events, and Client Services for a series of Outlyr professional golf events. This role will assist in the planning and execution of tournament operations, working both remotely and on-site, including travel for advance meetings and during the weeks leading up to each event. The Mavrk will be assigned to one or a series of Outlyr events over the course of the term.
The ideal candidate must be willing to travel, perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, and manage multiple responsibilities across various events. A strong work ethic, keen attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are essential, along with a commitment to Outlyr’s core value that “Every Experience Matters.”
RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES
- Help manage operational timeline that includes detailed set-up/tear-down schedules
- Serve as the main point of contact for ordering, scheduling, and maintaining several operational initiatives per tournament; included but not limited to: Golf Carts, Radios, Fencing/Barricade/Ropes, Internet, Office Equipment, Storage, Trailers, Sanitation, among other duties and assignments
- Work closely with Tournament Staff to ensure operational fulfillment of corporate partner contracts and operational support of volunteer activities
- Oversee storage plans including sponsor product logistics and event assets
- Work with tournament staff to execute product logistics plan including loading and unloading of product into storage containers
- Support special projects and documentation
- Administrative tasks such as travel logistics and inventory of merchandise
- Carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision, including coordinating and implementing projects to meet event objectives
- Assist tournament staff in coordinating all vendor contracts for the event
- Ensure first-class presentation for the operation of each event
- Work closely with event staff to plan and execute ancillary community events such as golf outings, fitness events, and culinary experiences
- Assist with implementation of sponsor programs and onsite activations
- Carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision, including coordinating and implementing projects
- Updating ticketing database and sending out weekly status reports
- Other related duties/projects as reasonably assigned
- Weekend and Holiday work required
- Please note: Events are held outdoors (rain or shine), and all phases of these events (set-up, build and tear down) will require long workdays outside in temperatures/conditions consistent with each events location/season
- Must be able to lift 30+ lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive study in a related field (marketing, business, or event management)
- Previous event experience a plus
- Polished communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong ability to demonstrate initiative, solve problems and work effectively under pressure while working as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Collaborative in nature with “no job is too small” mentality
- Must be available to work full time in the Connecticut market
- Willingness to work weekends and non-standard hours
- Interest in sports marketing and event management as a career
- Forklift experience or willingness to be certified is a plus
- To be considered for a Mavrk role, candidate must be willing to travel extensively (~50% of time) and be willing to work remotely (from home) or in Outlyr office (if applicable)
