OVERVIEW | MAVRKS
The Public Relations & Marketing Intern (“Mavrk”) will work closely with the marketing team and tournament staff to gain experience and exposure in a variety of areas related to sports marketing + event management, including digital marketing, communications, media relations, media center management, and overall event planning. The Tampa team will be hiring one (1) Mavrk position in 2026. Events could include:

  •     Kroger Queen City Championship (OH) – May 14-17
  •     Shoprite LPGA Classic (NJ) – May 28-31
  •     Dow Championship (MI) – June 11-14
  •     Meijer LPGA Classic (MI) – June 18-21
  •     The Annika Driven by Gainbridge at Pelican (FL) – November 12-15

RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES
  •  Assist with the overall public relations and communications functions at Outlyr and its operated professional golf tournaments and projects
  •  Assist with managing timelines of creative services, promotions, media partnerships and public relations for upcoming Outlyr events
  • Updating and editing Outlyr event websites as needed
  • Creation of press releases and other internal and external communications
  • Assist with planning & executing social media plans for Outlyr events
  • Support onsite media centers as well as live broadcasts and remotes as needed
  •  Assist in the implementation of advance and on-site promotions for upcoming Outlyr events in coordination with the broader Outlyr marketing team
  • Updating ticketing database and sending out weekly status reports
  •  Respond to general event inquiries (dates, event schedule, ticket prices, etc.)
  •  Carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision, including coordinating and implementing projects 
  • Other related duties + projects as reasonably assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Extensive study in a related field (marketing, business or event management)
  • Previous event experience a plus
  • Polished communication skills, both written and oral
  • Strong ability to demonstrate initiative, solve problems and work effectively under pressure while working as part of a team as well as independently 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Collaborative in nature with “no job is too small” mentality 
  • Must be available to work full time in the Tampa, FL market
  • Willingness to work weekends and non-standard hours
  • Interest in communications, sports marketing and/or event management as a career
