THE JOB / Outlyr Internship:
This is a position within the Outlyr Internship Program. We are looking for a motivated intern to assist the Culinary Coordinator and event staff with day-to-day operations of preparing for the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give to be held June 10 -16, 2024. The intern will be working full time assisting with our special event efforts starting in May 2024 in our office located in Grand Rapids, MI. 
 
This position offers a unique opportunity to learn event management, on-site logistics and event activation skills to be able to successfully engage with consumers tournament partners.  The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team and will interface with internal divisions, client partners and vendors. Strong team dynamics skills, self-starter, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are required for this position. Work on weekends, evenings and some holidays will also be required, specifically during Tournament week June 10 – 16, 2024.
 
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR?
 
·       You have a passion for and expertise in sports and entertainment
·       Self-starter with “can-do” attitude
·       Experience in a related field preferred
·       Must be available to work full time in Grand Rapids, MI office
·       Strong communication skills, both written and oral
·       Strong ability to work as part of a team, demonstrate initiative, and solve problems independently
·       Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet
·       Extremely organized and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
·       Interest in sports and event marketing as a career
·       Willingness to work weekends and nonstandard hours particularly during tournament week
·       Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record 
 
 
THE WORK YOU’LL DO 
 
 
·       Respond to general event inquiries (dates, event schedule, ticket prices etc.)
·       Assist with implementation of special projects & other partnership extensions in community
·       Assist with all tournament merchandising, volunteer uniforms, pro-am gifts, staff uniforms, etc.
·       Administrative duties
·       Carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision, including coordinating and implementing projects
·       Assist with compiling tournament overview book at close of event
·       Manage projects designated by manager
·       Work with vendors onsite
·       Other related duties/projects as assigned
·       Weekend and Holiday work required
