Sports Management/Event Operations Intern (Summer)

Responsibilities 
  • Assist with State tournament administration and event set up; Organize/Plan event punchlist
  •  Utilize social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to help promote state tournaments
  • Be the official social media coordinator at state tournaments posting photos, videos, results
  • Write previews/feature articles for Overtime Sports section of web site
  • Write press releases on championship tournaments, Association news
  • Assist with updates on NYSPHSAA web site
  • Observe and participate in sport committee meetings
  • Assist in fulfillment of corporate sponsorship agreements
  • Records – researching, recording individual/team records
  • Other duties related to Director’s responsibilities
Requirements:
  • Must be available for some or all state tournaments within that semester. Get familiar with our events listed on  www.nysphsaa.org
  • Must have experience or interest in athletics
  • Must be detail oriented, meticulous & professional
  • Must be punctual, work hard & be capable of problem solving
  • Must have reliable transportation. Your own vehicle is required (no Uber/Lyft).
Renumeration:       
  • School credit & Small Stipend at end of semester based on complete hours;  Also travel/meal expenses if incurred during semester

In your cover letter, please indicate your current semester, relevant coursework, and whether you are seeking a full-time (21–30 hours per week) or part-time (16–20 hours per week) internship. Part-time interns work three days per week, while full-time interns work four to five days per week.
