Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled, passionate, and dependable photographer to cover a high-energy college football post-season Bowl Game featuring top teams from the SEC and Big Ten conferences. This is a five-day, opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced sports environments, has a strong understanding of the game, and knows how to capture its most dynamic, emotional, and engaging moments.
The ideal candidate will be creative, proactive, and have an eye for both action and atmosphere—with the ability to deliver high-quality images efficiently after the event.
Key Responsibilities:
· Capture High-Quality Images: Photograph live gameplay, behind-the-scenes moments, team interactions, fan experiences, and branded activations.
· Creative Composition: Think beyond standard angles to tell the full story of the event through dynamic, thoughtful photography.
· Understand the Game: Anticipate key plays and moments due to your familiarity with SEC and Big Ten football pacing and strategy.
· Visual Standards: Maintain a high-quality aesthetic and brand alignment in all content.
· Equipment Use: Confidently operate professional-level camera equipment in a variety of lighting and action conditions.
· Content Delivery: Provide real-time, web/social-ready image selects throughout the event (e.g., iPhone SD Card reader provided) for immediate posting, and deliver the full edited gallery on the agreed post-event timeline.
· Work Independently: Navigate the venue, manage your workflow, and make decisions on-the-fly without direct supervision.
· Collaborate with Media Team: Coordinate with social and content teams to provide images that meet specific needs (e.g., sponsor highlights, in-game hero shots, crowd interaction).
What You’ll Gain:
As a member of the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl Content Team, you’ll receive exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to one of college football’s premier postseason events — the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl.
Opportunities include:
· Exclusive access to team practices, press conferences, and private events at some of Nashville’s most iconic venues.
· Enhanced game day credentials that go beyond typical media access, allowing you to experience the action from unique on-field and behind-the-scenes perspectives.
· Hands-on experience in capturing, editing, and producing live content used across digital, social media, sponsorship, and advertising platforms.
· The ability to build a professional portfolio of real-world work from one of college football’s top bowl games — valuable experience to help launch or advance your career in sports, media, or communications.
· The chance to network with professionals from national media outlets, sports organizations, and production teams across the industry.
· Students who excel in this role are also eligible to apply for the Nashville Sports Council’s Felicia Carol Wilt Student Volunteer Scholarship, providing financial support toward educational goals.
· A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to capture and create content at a high-level college football bowl game played in a professional NFL stadium.
Qualifications:
· Strong knowledge of SEC and Big Ten Conference football is required.
· Must have and be proficient with your own professional camera equipment (iPhone SD card readers provided for quick transfer).
· Experience photographing live sports events (football preferred).
· Proven ability to capture sharp, compelling images in fast-paced settings through portfolio of prior sports content captured/produced.
· Strong eye for detail, lighting, framing, and composition.
· Ability to think creatively and adapt to changing conditions throughout the day.
· Efficient and organized when editing and delivering final assets on a tight timeline.
· Must be available for the full duration of the game day and its pre-ceding week events.
· Must be hardworking, dependable, and able to work long hours on your feet in a busy, live environment.
