Job Summary
The seasonal Soccer Coach will be responsible for the coaching of SAM Soccer after school clinics for youth ages 5-12 at upper Montgomery County schools and possibly clinics at the Maryland SoccerPlex. School clinics take place during the school year (September through May). The seasonal Soccer Coach will lead and teach classes based on a set curriculum, which focuses on fun, challenging activities and character development, under the guidance of the SAM Managers.

Job Summary
The seasonal Soccer Coach will be responsible for the coaching of SAM Soccer after school clinics for youth ages 5-12 at upper Montgomery County schools and possibly clinics at the Maryland SoccerPlex. School clinics take place during the school year (September through May). The seasonal Soccer Coach will lead and teach classes based on a set curriculum, which focuses on fun, challenging activities and character development, under the guidance of the SAM Managers.
Responsibilities
- Working with SAM Managers to plan and implement curriculum.
- Safely manage classes up to 14 children (ages range from 2-12).
- Organizing and leading age-appropriate drills, games and activities, explaining the rules and acting as referee for game activities.
- Arrive on-time to your locations and provide a positive customer experience to faculty and parents. Project a professional image to school personnel and students. Maintaining and ensuring proper use of facilities and equipment.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Availability for after school clinics in the 3-5pm time frame is a MUST. If available, we also offer evening and weekend clinics at the Maryland SoccerPlex
- Previous coaching experience is required to be a lead coach, but no set qualification minimum
- High School Education
- Eligible to work in the US
Preferred Skills and Qualities
- Positive, high-energy individuals who love working with kids and playing soccer
- Strong leadership skills, able to run a class independently
- Knowledge about soccer
- Passion for positively impacting youth players (loving soccer is a bonus!)
- Punctual and Reliable
- Responsibility and have a growth attitude
- Spanish speaking candidates are a PLUS
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift 20 pounds
- Ability to work weekdays after school. Start times are either 330pm or 400pm and each class runs for one hour.
- Ability to work in varying climates including heat, rain, and cold
- Reliable transportation
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check
- Vaccination
Salary
- $20-$60/hr. depending on class type, age group, and class size
Overtime Eligible, Paid Sick Leave (Make 56 Hours Accrual Annually, must work a min. of 8 hours/wk.)
