Job Summary
The Maryland SoccerPlex is currently seeking an enthusiastic, positive, hard-working, self-starter to join the team as the Programs Coordinator for the Soccer Association of Montgomery (SAM).  SAM is a recreational soccer program for youth and adult player.  SAM operates recreational and select level youth leagues, clinics and camps, as well as a recreational adult soccer league. This individual should be motivated, friendly, open-minded and environmentally conscience. The Programs Coordinator will assist with management Indoor and Outdoor Adult and Youth Soccer Leagues, clinic, and camps. As a member of the SoccerPlex team, this individual is responsible for front line customer service, assisting with marketing efforts for relevant programs, and onsite supervision of programs.
Fluency in Spanish and English is highly desired.
RESPONSIBILITIES
League Management (Adult and Youth)
  • Recruit teams’ players and teams for our youth and adult soccer leagues
  • Create and manager league schedules, roster management, scoring, standings and other administrative league management duties
  • Act as the disciplinary board for the leagues
  • Order, organize, and distribute team uniforms.
  • Coordinate with the referee assignor to make sure all games are covered
  • Assist in organizing, scheduling, and supporting part-time staff, coaches and referees
  • Assist with communicating program applications, policies, league rules, schedules, and weather updates to clubs, coaches, families, referees, and internal staff.
  • Assist Marketing Manager on development of marketing campaigns to advertise leagues
  • Assist with on-site operations for SAM tournaments, regional events, local clinics, and league opening weekends
  • Other duties as assigned
Clinic Management
  • Recruit coaches to conduct clinics
  • Help design, build, and refine age-appropriate soccer curricula for SAM Tots, clinics, and recreational leagues.
  • Provide coaching and education for clinic coaches
  • Schedule clinic sessions, assign coaches, and setup registration process.
  • Communicate relevant information to coaches, participants, and staff for all clinic activities
  • Assist Marketing Manager on development of marketing campaigns to advertise Clinics
  • Other duties as assigned
Administration
  • Assist Finance Manager with general bookkeeping
  • Coordinating with other staff on field/court scheduling needs
  • Provide basic data entry
  • Assist various departments with projects
  • Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Fluent in Spanish and English highly desired
  • Basic knowledge about youth and adult sports and particularly the soccer community in the United States 
  • Superior oral and written communications skills
  • Effective organizational skills for managing multiple tasks 
  • Working knowledge about Microsoft Office Suite, VoIP Phone Systems, and Point of Sales systems
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALITIES
  • Working knowledge of LeagueApps and Square POS software
  • Positive attitude and personality
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, self-starter, and highly motivated
  • Additional Requirements
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varying climates including extreme cold and heat
  • Ability to work in varying physical positions including standing, kneeling, seated, at height and the use of assistance equipment such ladders, lifts, and motor vehicles
  • Reliable transportation 
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check
  • Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship
ADDITIONAL NOTES
  • Hours may vary from time to time based on league needs, and include evening and weekend hours
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary Range $40,000 - $48,000 annually – Full Time
  • Non-Exempt, Overtime Eligible
  • 15 Days PTO (which encompasses vacation, sick leave, and personal days)
