Title: Director of Group Sales

When Macon, GA made a bold move to bring baseball back to Historic Luther Williams Field in 2018, they did it in partnership with two industry veterans who literally wrote the book on ticket sales, Steve DeLay and Jon Spoelstra.
The first two seasons of the Macon Bacon have been a smashing success with half the games being sold out in 2018 and 2019.  We are a collegiate summer baseball team and play in the Coastal Plain League.  Our fans are treated with first-class entertainment and we have been in the top 5% in attendance in summer college baseball out of more than 300 teams and even had an average attendance of better than 30% of all Minor League Baseball organizations.
In year two, we brought on another industry pro on board as President in Brandon Raphael.  Steve and Brandon have more than 49 years of combined experience all over the country in the NBA, NHL, Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, college athletics and Minor League Baseball.  With the Ultimate Toolkit Company, Steve has written books on ticket sales that are used by hundreds of teams around the country.  They’ve brought that expertise to the Macon Bacon and are looking to build on their tremendous first three seasons.  
To become a superstar working on the business side of sports, you need to first know that it all starts with tickets. Tickets are the lifeblood of sports. Once you learn tickets—truly learn how to sell tickets--then it’s on to other aspects of running a team.

So, we start our people on our lifeblood—remember, that’s tickets. We don’t give you a list and tell you to go sell. Our philosophy is train, train, train, and when we get tired of that, we train some more. Our goal is to accelerate your growth as fast as we can. We want you to get better as quickly as possible so you can be a major contributor for the team in Macon.  
You’ll be a full-time group ticket salesperson.  We’re looking for a Director of Group Sales that will lead our group sales efforts, grow and train our group sales account executive and knock it out of the park with personal sales.  You’ll be working with traditional groups (schools, churches, youth sports, etc.) and using The Ultimate Toolkit sales techniques.  We’ll train you, teach you and help you be successful.  You just need to have the drive and determination to make phone calls and build relationships with the community.    
Do you want to be a superstar in the sports business? That’s the first qualification. If you answered yes, then answer two more questions: 1) do you have a strong work ethic and 2) do you have a desire to learn and excel?  If you have experience and training with The Ultimate Toolkit, that’s a bonus.  
You should have strong communication skills (you have to like to talk to people) and a willingness to listen and learn. 
Steve and Brandon have turned out dozens of sports industry superstars and you could be the next senior executive at a sports team. To get there, a great place to start is with the Macon Bacon.
