Indiana Sports Corp (ISC) offers hands-on internship opportunities that immerse students in the fast-paced world of sports event management and not-for-profit operations. Interns gain real-world experience supporting major sporting events while working in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment. Although interns are assigned a primary focus area, they are exposed to all functional areas of the organization to reinforce the importance of teamwork in delivering world-class events.
Position Overview
The Event Operations Intern will support the planning and execution of ISC’s summer cornerstone events, including the ISC Golf Tournament and Corporate Challenge, one of the largest multi-sport corporate fitness events in the state. This role focuses on event logistics, participant services, volunteer coordination, and on-site operations, providing meaningful, hands-on experience across all phases of event delivery.
Key Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Assist with event planning, logistics, and operational coordination for summer events
- Support participant registration, team services, and customer service communications
- Assist with volunteer coordination, scheduling, and on-site management
- Help manage event timelines, schedules, and operational documents
- Coordinate vendor orders, equipment delivery, and event setup/breakdown
- Support hospitality planning and execution for participants, sponsors, and VIPs
- Assist with internal and external meetings, including note-taking and follow-up
- Provide on-site event support, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Collaborate with ISC staff across departments to ensure successful event execution
- Represent Indiana Sports Corp as a professional ambassador to participants, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Event Operations team
Qualifications
Undergraduate and Graduate Students
- Must be currently pursuing or have recently earned a degree from an accredited undergrad or graduate program
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
Preferred Skills
- Comfortable presenting to small and large groups
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve in high-pressure situations
- Experience working with volunteers, event participants, or customer-facing roles
- Interest in sports, event management, or nonprofit operations
Internship Details
- Term: Summer 2026 - May 18, 2026 - July 31, 2026
- Schedule: 4–5 days per week (approximately 30–40 hours/week)
- Compensation: $2,000 stipend for the internship term
- Location: On-site in Indianapolis, Indiana (relocation or housing not provided)
