Indiana Sports Corp provides internship opportunities that immerse students in a professional working environment while introducing them to the not-for-profit industry. Internships are available based on business needs and can include event and volunteer operations; communications; marketing; graphic design; community engagement; sports tourism; business development; and finance. ISC’s fast paced and entrepreneurial working environment offers each intern a rich experience within his/her chosen area; however, interns are exposed to all functional areas of the company to reinforce the important role collaboration plays in a successful company.
Position Overview
The Event Operations Intern will support the planning and execution of ISC’s fall cornerstone events, including Big Ten Volleyball, Big Ten Football, and the Indy Classic. This role focuses on event logistics, participant services, volunteer coordination, and on-site operations, providing meaningful, hands-on experience across all phases of event delivery.
Key Responsibilities (including but are not limited to):
- Assist with event planning, logistics, and operational coordination for summer events
- Support participant registration, team services, and customer service communications
- Assist with volunteer coordination, scheduling, and on-site management
- Help manage event timelines, schedules, and operational documents
- Coordinate vendor orders, equipment delivery, and event setup/breakdown
- Support hospitality planning and execution for participants, sponsors, and VIPs
- Assist with internal and external meetings, including notetaking and follow-up
- Provide on-site event support, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
- Collaborate with ISC staff across departments to ensure successful event execution
- Represent Indiana Sports Corp as a professional ambassador to participants, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Event Operations team
Key Dates
- Inaugural Big Ten Volleyball Tournament – November 20-25, 2026
- Big Ten Football Championship Game – Saturday, December 5, 2026
- 2026 Indy Classic – Saturday, December 19, 2026
Qualifications
- Available to work events as needed on weekends or evenings
- Must be currently pursuing or have recently earned a degree from an accredited undergraduate or graduate program
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management, organizational, and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Willingness and ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules
Preferred Skills
- Comfortable presenting to small and large groups
- Ability to think critically and problem-solve in high-pressure situations
- Experience working with volunteers, event participants, or customer-facing roles
- Interest in sports, event management, or nonprofit operations
Internship Details
Term: September 8, 2026 – December 20, 2026
Schedule: 4-5 days per week (approximately 30-40 hours/week)
Stipend: $2000
