Community Engagement Internship

Indiana Sports Corp provides internship opportunities that immerse students in a professional working environment while introducing them to the not-for-profit industry. Internships are available based on business needs and can include event and volunteer operations; communications; marketing; graphic design; community engagement; sports tourism; business development; and finance. ISC’s fast paced and entrepreneurial working environment offers each intern a rich experience within his/her chosen area; however, interns are exposed to all functional areas of the company to reinforce the important role collaboration plays in a successful company.
Position Overview
This internship role will be specifically focused on grassroots promotional and community outreach efforts to raise awareness, increase engagement, and share opportunities related to our future events. The intern will gain knowledge and experience through managing promotional inventory, creating a promotional plan, and developing face-to-face engagement strategies, executing tasks related to our individual membership program, assisting with the development of our overall engagement strategy and coordinating event logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and coordinate promotional booths at events
- Assist with developing engagement strategy for promotional event opportunities and plan for follow up with those that interact with our mission and events including, Women’s Big Ten Basketball Tournament, Big Ten Rowing Championship, Men’s & Women’s Big Ten Indoor Track and Field Championship, 2026 Men’s Final Four and more!
- Assist with 2026 Men’s Final Four community engagement, community events, and activities throughout the city.
- Assist in organizing and inventorying promotional items at the warehouse
- Support event planning eBorts for marketing and engagement events/meetings such as Locker Room Lunches, State of Sports, committee meetings, and community events.
- Develop communication tactics to promote Indiana Sports Corp events to partners, community members and attendees
- Execute tasks related to event marketing plans including Indiana Sports Corp Fundraisers
- Attend various meetings, schedule follow-ups, and draft proposals
- Execute tasks related to engagement with advocates and stakeholders
- Assist in creating concepts and implementing creative strategies around marketing & engagement efforts.
Timeframe: Spring 2026 (January 2026-May 2026)
4-5 days per week
30-40 hours
$2000 per semester
Location: On-site - Indianapolis, Indiana. Relocation or housing is not available.
