Currently, we are seeking a Warehouse Associate to support operations at our Flanders, NJ facility. This skilled multitasker will manage the receiving, handling, storing, and packing activities of the warehouse, ensuring that quality standards are met or exceeded.

The Warehouse Associate must have experience in general equipment maintenance, skate sharpening and possesses basic mechanical skills. A basic understanding of plumbing and refrigeration processes are a benefit. Following Ice-America reporting policies, meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment and having a strong sense of urgency is essential.

An ideal candidate has the ice rink operations experience required to be dispatched into the field, on location to support equipment load in/load out, and supporting event operations on a seasonal basis. Preference will be shown to candidates with functional experience in the live events or production management industries.

The perfect candidate must also have a clean driving record and a current driver's license, speak fluent English, be reliable, hardworking, punctual and excited about joining a team of achievers.

This role is a full-time, year round position and will pay an hourly wage of $20 - $23 commensurate with experience. Health benefits available after the successful completion of 90 days of work. 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) employer contributions after one year of service with 1,000 hours worked during that period.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

  • Receive event equipment coming into the warehouse accurately and promptly.
  • Verify the quantity and description of event equipment received by checking all orders.
  • Examine incoming event equipment and report damaged equipment.
  • Accurately place event materials and equipment on shelves, racks or other designated areas in an orderly and timely manner.
  • Attach identifying tag or labels to event equipment or mark information on cases, racks, pallets or other containers.
  • Assemble and fill orders to be shipped to customers.
  • Ensure warehouse and event equipment is maintained and cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Safely operate all the necessary equipment in the work area.
  • Accurately identify and count stock materials as listed on the work order.
  • Electronic and computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Smartsheet, Google Workspace, and Slack).
  • Flexibility in availability. Must be able to adapt and adjust in hourly schedule changes based off of production requirements.
Qualifications

  • Warehouse and distribution experience preferred
  • Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment
  • Able to be on their feet for upwards of 8 hours a day with some weekend & holiday work
  • Position spends 90% amount of time standing, walking, lifting, pulling and pushing
  • Position may require climbing of ladders for top-level selection
  • Peripheral vision and depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Be able to identify product by size, type, style, color or product code
  • Fluent reading skills – must be able to read orders/match orders to items picked
  • Ability to understand and execute instructions
  • General understanding of the warehouse and footprint
  • Strong communication and problem solving skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
