For more than 25 years, the Harris County–Houston Sports Authority (HCHSA) has served as the sports marketing and events agency for the City of Houston and Harris County, helping to position the region as one of the world’s premier destinations for sports.

HCHSA is responsible for bidding on and attracting major sporting events to the Houston area, as well as supporting the marketing and operations that bring them to life. These include the NCAA Final Four, College Football Playoff, CONCACAF Gold Cup, FIFA World Cup 26™, World Baseball Classic, MLB and NBA All-Star Games, National Collegiate Rugby Championships, and the annual National Battle of the Bands.

From global championships to community events, HCHSA continues to elevate Houston’s reputation, drive economic impact, and showcase the city’s passion for sports on the world stage.

POSITION SUMMARY
We’re seeking a talented and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to support the organization’s visual communications and brand identity. This mid-level role is responsible for producing high-quality print and digital design assets that elevate our message, engage audiences, and maintain visual consistency across all platforms. The ideal candidate is a creative thinker with professional design experience, strong technical skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design graphics for both print and digital platforms, including signage, flyers, advertisements, invitations, reports, presentations, infographics, website, social media, and email campaigns
  • Maintain and enforce brand guidelines to ensure visual consistency across all materials and communication channels
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, events, and partnerships, to deliver timely, high-quality creative solutions
  • Create templates and visual assets to support internal and external communications
  • Contribute to the development of marketing campaign materials in collaboration with the communications team
  • Prepare final artwork for production, ensuring proper formatting and specifications for print and digital delivery
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines while upholding high-quality standards
  • Stay current with design trends, tools, and best practices to ensure fresh, relevant, and effective visual output

 QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • 3+ years of experience in graphic design or visual communications
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) required; working knowledge of After Effects, Premiere Pro, and PowerPoint is a plus
  • Strong understanding of design principles, including layout, typography, color theory, image editing, and branding
  • Experience creating assets and preparing files for professional print production and digital platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively across competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to take direction and feedback, work independently, and collaborate within a team environment
