Join Our Team!

We’re looking for a Road Racing Intern for Summer 2026!
If you love running, organization, and the excitement of race day, this is your chance to get hands-on experience in the heart of event operations. You’ll work side-by-side with our Race Director and production team to plan, prepare, and execute road races of all sizes — from registration to finish-line celebrations. 20 hours/week, paid, and packed with real-world experience!

About Us:

We’re a Cleveland-based race management and timing team passionate about creating memorable events for runners of all levels. From 5Ks to marathons, every race we produce is built around community, connection, and that finish-line feeling. We’re looking for an organized, energetic, and hands-on Road Racing Intern to help us make race day seamless, safe, and unforgettable.

Position Overview:

The Race Director Intern will support the operations team in all aspects of race production — logistics, course setup, volunteer coordination, and event-day management. You’ll gain direct experience in what it takes to produce successful running events from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with race planning logistics, including permits, course layouts, and event timelines.
 • Support communication with city officials, vendors, sponsors, and volunteers.
 • Help organize and distribute race supplies (signage, cones, bibs, medals, water stations, etc.).
 • Work with the Race Director to coordinate event-day setup, tear-down, and on-site management.
 • Assist with runner registration, packet pickup, and customer service before and during races.
 • Help recruit, schedule, and manage race-day volunteers.
 • Collaborate with timing and marketing teams to ensure smooth race execution and promotion.
 • Contribute to post-event recaps and feedback to improve future race

What We’re Looking For:

• A current college student (sports management, event management, recreation, business, or related major).
 • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
 • Comfortable communicating with a variety of people — runners, staff, volunteers, and partners.
 • A team player who’s proactive and ready to jump in wherever needed.
 • Able to work some early mornings or weekends during events.
 • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; familiarity with event software a plus.
 • An interest in running, endurance sports, or live events (no need to be a runner).

What You’ll Gain:

• Hands-on experience in event planning, logistics, and race operations.
 • Opportunities to assist at live races and see your work come to life on course.
 • Insight into the full lifecycle of event production — from permits to post-race cleanup.
 • Mentorship from experienced race directors and exposure to the local running community.
 • Real-world experience to build your resume in sports management or event production.
