OVERVIEW | EVENT COORDINATOR:
Eiger Marketing is looking for a motivated individual to join our team to help support the day-to-day operations of two events held annually in the Great Lakes Bay Region – the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational and the Eat Great Food Festival. The Event Coordinator will work closely with tournament staff, assisting in miscellaneous projects for each event.
This position offers an outstanding opportunity to learn event management, onsite logistics and event activation/operation skills. The right candidate will be able to work as part of a team and will collaborate with internal divisions, client partners and vendors. Strong team dynamics skills and excellent social skills are required for this position. Travel on weekends, evenings and some holiday work may also be required.
RESPONSIBILITIES + DUTIES:
- Respond to general event inquiries (dates, event schedule, ticket prices etc.)
- Assist with implementation of special projects & other partnership extensions in the community
- Sales support inclusive of proposal development, sponsorship fulfillment, contract creation & execution
- Ticketing and fulfillment for event sponsors
- Manage projects related to special events such as the Tournament Pro-Am, STEM Programming and Eat Great Food Festival programming – including managing planning documents, contracts and operational documents, onsite execution, and budget management
- Manage contracts and invoicing process on behalf of tournament staff
- Carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision, including coordinating and implementing projects
- Compile necessary documents to include in tournament recap decks
- Other related duties/projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 1-2 years’ experience in marketing, events or business
- Previous event experience a plus
- Polished communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong ability to demonstrate initiative, solve problems and work effectively under pressure while working as part of a team as well as independently
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
- Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel
- Collaborative in nature with “no job is too small” mentality
- Willingness to work weekends and nonstandard hours
- Must be available to work full time in our Midland, Michigan office
