Role Responsibilities
The Senior Ticketing Manager manages the coordination of sales, service and reporting for all tickets sold & fulfilled for DCI operated events and DCI Ticket Service venues. These functions will include setup of venues, managing agreements with outside venues & organizations, recruitment and training of seasonal employees and training & supervision of DCI led box office personnel. This position will interact with multiple ticketing platforms each summer tour including, but not limited to, Vivenu, Ticketmaster, Paciolan, and SeatGeek. This position will also handle customer service issues, client interaction and coordinate & manage special promotions.
This position requires excellent written and oral skills. This person should possess strong interpersonal and organizational abilities. The Senior Ticketing Manager works in a varied, fast-paced environment that requires flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing requirements. A sense of urgency and problem-solving skills are a necessity as well as a desire to provide world class customer service to our customers (internal and external).
This person may travel extensively throughout the tour season (Late June through early August) and should be available evenings and weekends as needed during that time period. Some travel may be required at other times during the year for site visits or other events.
This position has three full time direct reports. This position reports directly to the Director of Events.
The Senior Ticketing Manager will also require a high degree of interaction and cooperation with the Ticketing Manager, Senior Director Operations, CFO and the CEO. This position will also interact with Tour Event Partners, Corps Directors and other DCI Staff.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Ticketing Management
● Understand key functions and features of the Vivenu Ticket System used for Drum Corps International events.
● Liaison with Ticketmaster venues to create events, prepare on-sales and utilize Secondary Box Office Services
● Aid staff working with venues operating alternate Ticketing Platforms (Paciolan, SeatGeek, etc.) to ensure ticket sales for the event are as efficient as possible.
● Coordinate promotions and special events with DCI marketing staff.
● Work with DCI Ticketing Service clients to provide the creation of events including creation of the agreement & execution of the Ticketing Service Agreement, on-sale dates, day of show staffing and post-event reconciliation with settlement.
● Coordinate site visits with DCI event staff to obtain seating availability and design, handicap & other special access requirements, facility promotion and other details.
● Administer and process the Corps Block Program for all World Class Corps.
● Coordinate Friends of DCI ticketing needs for World Championships and DCI Operated events with the Development Director and Friends of DCI Coordinator.
● Coordinate any ticketing needs and special events with the Business Development and Housing departments, as well as the INpact Band programs.
● Develop and coordinate additional streams of revenue using the ticketing system.
● Process internal and external ticket requests during the season.
● Review and update current ticketing policies for sales, refunds and exchanges in conjunction with CFO and Ticketing Manager.
● Manage event budgets and financials for assigned events.
Staff Management
● Oversight of ticketing team (Ticketing Manager and Ticketing Coordinators).
● Assist seasonal staff (Group Sales Representatives, Ticket Agents) with any issues that may arise.
● Develop recruitment of new seasonal ticket staff members with a regional focus in conjunction with the Director of Events and Ticketing Manager.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience & Competencies
● Five to Seven years of ticket box office or call center management experience
● Three to Five years of Ticketing Software experience.
● Experience with Vivenu Ticket System and Ticketmaster a plus.
● BS degree in Business or equivalent experience preferred, MS degree a plus.
● Excellent customer service skills.
● Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
● Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
● Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
● Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
● Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
● Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook.
● Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
● Proficient with Microsoft Office.
● Experience with Salesforce a plus.
