Location: Remote or Indianapolis, IN (Indianapolis, IN would be preferred)
Role Responsibilities
- The Housing Manager, along with all members of the housing team, is responsible for securing all housing needs (schools, recreation centers, hotels and other facilities) as they relate to Drum Corps International sponsored events.
- The position travels periodically throughout the year and maintains a working relationship with corps directors, tour managers, and tour admins.
- The position reports to the Senior Housing manager.
- The Housing Manager will require a high degree of cooperation with the Director of Events, Event Operations team, and other teams as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Work with participating drum corps to determine specific needs, including transitional housing sites between Drum Corps International events.- Negotiate contracts on behalf of corps with facilities that can meet the needs requested.
- Solidify all necessary arrangements with facility contacts so as to ensure all aspects of the corps stay are met.
- Coordinate all billing, invoices and necessary payments with the Drum Corps International office.
- Submit all expenses for payment/reimbursement in a timely manner.
- Travel (periodically) to facilities and events to ensure all arrangements are properly made.
- Conducts site visits to help determine new facilities when needed.
- Maintain a contact list of host schools as well as potential sites.
- Conduct an annual follow up post events, including experiences of the host sites and corps experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent a plus.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of the touring process of competitive drum corps.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations in regards to Driver Hour needs specific to housing locations assigned.
- The ability to handle any situation that might arise on short notice at any particular hour of the day during the touring season.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards of ethics and customer service.
- Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with music educators and school administrators.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated abilities in the areas of project management, creativity in problem solving process and critical thinking to meet deadlines.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Ability to work on complex projects with general direction, minimal guidance and an acute attention to detail.
- Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Proficient with Google Workspace.
- Proficient with Zoom and Go-To-Meetings.
- Experience with Salesforce a plus.
