Event Operations & Special Projects Seasonal Coordinator

Be part of the action as a member of the fast-paced Drum Corps International Events Team! Learn how DCI creates 40+ large-scale Premier Events throughout the country from pre-event preparation through all aspects of successfully executing major events. Some travel is involved.
Role Responsibilities
● Assist with the final operational details of the DCI Summer Tour and week-long World Championship events, playing a role in bringing our largest events to life
● Prepare event and on-site materials for corps and staff
● Experience cross-training between other departments (Ticketing, Business Development, Marketing, etc.) to obtain a
“big-picture view” of the role they play in events
● Provide administrative support to INpact and BANDtastic! programming, impacting and creating life-changing
experiences for participants in these middle school band programs.
● Play an on-site role in the execution of DCI World Championships and other Midwest based DCI Operated events.
Required Skills/Qualifications
● Currently enrolled in undergraduate courses in event management and/or hospitality related field (second year or
higher preferred)
● Able to handle stressful situations on site with tact and professionalism
● Must be detail oriented and a self-starter
● Excellent time management - able to meet deadlines on a daily basis
● Proficiency with all Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, etc)

Special Information
● This is a paid Seasonal position. (See Learning Objectives for Internship Requirements)
● Candidate will be required to have a clear background check for the position. This background check will be provided
at DCI expense.
● Candidate will be required to take the DCI Safety Training course also provided at DCI expense.
● Candidate will be responsible for their travel to Indianapolis and housing if they are not local.
● Candidate will be responsible for transportation to and from the office and airport (if applicable).
● DCI will provide a laptop for use during the duration of the program
