The COPA Play Youth League Field Marshall is responsible for the supervision and execution of day- to day operations. Providing premier service is a critical function for all COPA STC staff members and requires abilities in supervision, officiating, customer service, conflict resolution, and communication. The primary responsibility is to ensure that games and programs are operating in a safe and fun environment and that all referees and game staff follow the rules while maintaining a professional demeanor to the highest possible standards at all times. COPA Play Youth Field Marshall are responsible for ensuring the safety of all participating players and spectators, and ensuring they have a great experience. The COPA Play Youth League Field Marshall role at COPA STC is a part-time entry-level position and is seasonal based on competition schedule.
Responsibilities Include:
- Supervision and execution of COPA Play programs.
- Complete facility check-ins for COPA Play events through Day Smart Recreation
- Assist in ensuring teams/players have paid fees prior to playing (occasionally)
- Complete procedures for Opening or Closing the facility
- Assist in supervising, onboarding and training referees as needed
- Referee games when needed and/or referees are not available during your scheduled shift
- Communicate with on-site facility operations staff regarding field set-up/equipment needs and issues.
- Set-up field and equipment when needed
- Know and apply COPA STC rules in a professional and consistent manner
- Ensure that all games are properly officiated to ensure the safety of all players
- Ensure that all players fully comply with COPA STC's equipment requirements
- Know and fully comply with COPA STC's injury and incident procedures
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills
- Ability to deescalate conflicts
- Ensure all games run on time
- Keep an open line of communication at all times with COPA Play management on all aspects of game operations and player conduct
- Maintain a professional demeanor; remain attentive during the entire game, pregame, and post-game operations; and display a great attitude at all times
- Create a welcoming and professional play environment while delivering quality customer service
- Ensure COPA STC's customer service guidelines are consistently applied
Requirements:
- Must wear COPA branded uniform and/or referee uniform and provide their own officiating equipment such as, whistle, watch, etc.
- Ability to resolve conflicts, be reliable, professional, computer-literate, energetic, and friendly
- Demonstrate a strong customer service focus
- Preferably interested in health, fitness, and soccer
- Must be able to effectively communicate in person, via email, and via phone
- Must be First Aid/CPR/AED-certified or be willing to take our course to become certified
