Ignite Sports and Entertainment is becoming a regional sports player in the sports and entertainment industry, and we are looking to expand our portfolio with additional talent to support our organization. Ignite Sports goal is to create family friendly entertainment and allow our employees a place to shine while gaining experience in a fast paced, fun industry.
We are currently hiring a Game Night and Event Operations Intern for the upcoming 2021-22 season, from September 2021 to May 2022, where you will have the opportunity to create, provide input and see your ideas come to life at a game. The front office staff will also provide career guidance and coaching, helping you learn more about the sports and entertainment industry. You will gain experience developing and executing in-game entertainment, learning about how game days are planned and executed, as well as external planning and implementation of event operations. 

●        Assist in all aspects of game day operations, including event coordination, setup, and event services
●        Support in planning operations and logistics for all events
●        Work on the timely coordination of activities with event staff, clients, other building departments, vendors, production staff and show-related contractors
●        Correspond with clients and outside organizations through calls, emails, walk-throughs, and site visits
●        Assist in the creation and maintenance of event documents
●        Consistently seek ways to improve upon existing products; encourage innovation, excellence, and operation efficiency
●        As scheduled, work flexible/varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
●        Must be available for all home and away (remotely) games from October 2021 through May 2022 
●        Coordinate team watch parties at various locations 
●        Interns will be required to work office hours during the week, gaining experience in ticket sales, corporate fulfillment, social media management, business administration, marketing, and more
●        Interns may be required to perform as the mascot during community appearances
●        Assist in the coordination of music, lighting, set-up, and breakdown during home games 
●        Other duties, as assigned
●        Excellent organizational skills
●        Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills required; ability to successfully communicate with all levels of staff and the public
●        Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
●        Strong customer service skills and attention to detail
●        Strong communication skills and telephone etiquette
●        Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
●        Strategic and operational planning and delivery experience
●        Interns must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
●        Reliable transportation to and from the Columbus Civic Center, as necessary
●        Must be able to lift and carry 35lbs
●        Pursuit of Sport Management, Marketing, Communication, and/or business degree preferred
●        Computer proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
●        Basic knowledge of ice hockey is encouraged but not required
This internship is a full-time (40 hours/week) position and Ignite Sports will not provide compensation.
