Ignite Sports and Entertainment is becoming a regional player in the sports and entertainment industry, and we are looking to expand our portfolio with additional talent to support our organization. Ignite Sports goal is to create family friendly entertainment and allow our employees a place to shine while gaining experience in a fast paced, fun industry.

We are currently looking for a Communications Intern, helping coordinate communications, social media, and video, helping shape and communicate our corporate brand, as well as our sports teams and facilities. Responsibilities will include day-to-day communication and social media operations along with game night responsibilities at games and other events. The internship runs from October 2021 through May 2022, with an opportunity to continue beyond that. Our internship program is designed to provide qualified participants with hands-on skills and experiences that can be readily applied to future opportunities and professional pursuits. This ideal candidate is expected to add to an environment of excellence and customer service within the organization. 
What you’ll be doing:
●        Responsible for writing and editing River Dragons game notes
●        Assist the staff with company website maintenance, as well as social media platforms
●        Create and update event listings on events calendar
●        Update all available external community calendars throughout the local area
●        Assist with event marketing & communications plans
●        Acquire and produce video clips for media and marketing purposes
●        Coordinate communication projects, such as souvenir game day programs/media guides where needed
●        Create social media calendars and assist with the digital marketing strategy
●        Assist with marketing strategies through social media, e-marketing, and website promotion that support growth of our partner events
●        Produce weekly content including interviews and stories of interest
●        Assist with game-day broadcast operations
●        Coordinate the media workroom and media seating
●        Set up home and away broadcast booths
●        Support in-game PR efforts and post-game duties as assigned
●        Act as a Stage Manager throughout the broadcast, including pre- and post-game shows
●        Distribute media credentials and other pertinent documents
●        Provide up-to-date statistics and information to media in attendance
●        Transcribe coach and player quotes from pre/post-game interviews
●        Creating and editing video content
●        Collaborating with other members of marketing for production of content
●        Administrative duties: scheduling meetings with members of other departments, tracking hours, planning recording time
●        Computer literate and proficient with Premiere Pro and/or After Effects a plus
●        Other duties as assigned
What we’re looking for:
●        Interest in pursuing future career in professional sports and/or entertainment industry
●        Self-starter mentality and desire to take initiative 
●        Must be available for all home and away (remotely) games from October 2021 through May 2022 
●        Possess outstanding writing/communication skills
●        Knowledge, use and understanding of social media practices
●        Demonstrate proficient computer skills, including but not limited to, MS Word, Excel, Outlook and InDesign
●        Ability to meet deadlines in short, high-pressure situations
●        Hard-working, self-improvers who are hungry, proactive, and have a positive attitude
●        Interns must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
●        Reliable transportation to and from the Columbus Civic Center, as necessary
●        Prior broadcast experience preferred, but not required
●        Current college students (undergraduate or graduate) preferred.
●        Able to provide their own housing throughout the duration of the internship
This internship is a full-time (40 hours/week) position and Ignite Sports will not provide compensation.
