The Boston Ski & Sports Club (BSSC) is a 55-year-old organization serving more than 50,000 participants annually through recreational sports leagues and programs across Greater Boston. BSSC offers a fun, fast-paced environment and hands-on exposure to sports operations and event management.
Internship Overview
BSSC is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Sport Program Coordinator Intern to support Spring and Summer sports leagues and programs. This internship is designed for students interested in gaining real-world experience in sports operations, customer service, and recreational league management.
This is a hands-on role that combines field work with office and administrative responsibilities and provides direct interaction with players, teams, and facilities.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a point of contact for players and team representatives during league play
- Assist with field and equipment setup, breakdown, and maintenance (e.g., volleyball nets, soccer goals, field lining)
- Greet teams at evening leagues and help ensure games run smoothly
- Support administrative tasks including phone calls, emails, registrations, rosters, and standings
- Distribute sponsor products to participants
- Capture photos and short videos for use by the BSSC marketing team
- Complete additional office and administrative projects as needed
Note: This role includes hands-on, physical work and time spent outdoors at fields and facilities.
Schedule and Work Environment
- Approximately 30 hours per week; hours vary based on league schedules
- Shifts may occur between 10:00am and 11:00pm, including nights and weekends
- Some office-based responsibilities may be completed remotely
- Primary office location: 135 Beaver St, Suite 210, Waltham, MA
Candidate Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in (or recently graduated from) an undergraduate or graduate program in Sport Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfortable interacting with large groups of players and teams
- Dependable, proactive, and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Willing to work evenings and weekends as required
Preferred (not required):
- Experience playing or officiating recreational sports
Requirements
- Reliable access to a car, as this position requires travel to multiple league locations across Greater Boston
- Ability to work in the Greater Boston area for the full duration of the internship
Housing and Relocation
This internship does not include a housing or relocation stipend. Candidates must independently secure housing in the Greater Boston area.
