Position Purpose
Barrett-Jackson is seeking a Full Time Hire position to fill the IT Quality Analyst position.  The candidate needs to be a self-motivated and driven individual that will be responsible for setting up a formalized QA process (including, but not limited to creating test plans/cases, use of manual and creation of automated test processes where applicable, and setting up test data for projects of various sizes and complexes). He/she will participate in formal reviews of business requirements and application designs, providing test coverage recommendations. The candidate will use their knowledge and experience to find, create and triage bugs, leveraging data and queries to validate test results. The candidate will log, track and verify bugs, ensuring proper documentation and communication take place.  He/she will execute manual test cases and define and conduct regression tests for projects. The candidate will participate in production release activities, including but not limited to participate in release meetings, monitor release progress and conducting smoke tests in production, once the release is complete. The candidate is expected to collaborate with a team of business analysts, developers, designers, and subject matter experts to deliver results on time, as well as communicate effectively with their project manager and team.
 
Responsibilities:
  •  Create from scratch a QA test process for building test cases, executing test cases, creating bugs in Jira, and regression tests for all applications.  
  • Experience with Jira is a must (creating workflows a plus)
  • Document, develop, and implement a formalized QA process 
  • Create and maintain detailed, effective test plans, test cases and test procedures
  • Correctly estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
  • Ensure quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked and resolved in our tracking systems
  • Perform thorough regression testing as new features are implemented into the applications
  • Work with the Product Development Team members to identify the required level of testing for each release
  • Create and execute queries, as needed, to validate proper data is in place
  • Ensure proper UAT takes place and proper user signoff is documented
  • Provide final approval of production release, for client use
  • Communicate effectively within the project team and with all stakeholders of the project
  • Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities, open defect counts, etc.
 
Qualifications
  •  Certification on any QA related courses/trainings a plus.
  • 5+ years of relevant QA technical experience with functional testing, regression testing and integration testing.
  • 2+ years of experience with automation test software
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence a must
  • Expertise in creating clear and detailed test plans and test cases.
  • Ability to focus on deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time and shift priorities quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communicating skills.
  • Team player and detail oriented.
  • Positive demeanor in collaborating with others and proactive desire to continuously learn and grow.
 
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QA
  • Bachelor’s degree with IT competencies or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT
