We are seeking reliable and energetic Event Fan Shop Staff to support merchandise operations during the
Softball World Series – Chicagoland tournament. This is a temporary, event-specific role from June 16-21, 2026, based in Chicagoland, IL. The successful candidates will play a key role in delivering a great tournament experience by assisting with on-site merchandise sales and fan engagement throughout the event.
Fan Shop Staff will help manage daily merchandise operations, including fan shop setup and breakdown, assisting customers, processing sales transactions through Square POS, handling cash, card, and digital/mobile payments, maintain organized inventory, and ensuring the merchandise area remains clean and welcoming. This position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced tournament environment while interacting with players, families, and spectators.
Compensation: $220/day
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with fan shop setup and breakdown, including unloading, stocking, and packing merchandise.
- Process sales accurately using Square POS (cash, credit/debit, mobile payments).
- Follow proper cash-handling procedures, including till counts and reconciliation.
- Stock, organize, and maintain merchandise displays.
- Assist with inventory counts and report low stock or discrepancies.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service to fans.
- Follow all company policies, venue rules, and supervisor instructions.
Qualifications
- Reliable transportation to tournament venues.
- Basic math skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Previous retail, cash-handling, or event experience preferred (not required).
Schedule Expectations
- Ability to work 6 consecutive days, approximately 12 hours per day.
- Must be available for and commit to the full duration of the event once scheduled.
- Shifts may include early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Staff are expected to remain through assigned setup and breakdown shifts.

The Softball World Series is a premier national championship tournament for travel softball organizations, bringing together 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, and 18U teams from across the country for a four-day World Series experience at top family vacation destinations. Teams compete in a true national championship atmosphere featuring opening ceremonies, skills competitions, 5–7 guaranteed games, and a unique double-sided bracket format with Gold and Silver divisions, all played at elite synthetic turf facilities near major attractions such as water parks, thrill parks, beaches, and entertainment districts.
About This Tournament: Softball World Series – Chicagoland
This specific tournament will take place from Tuesday, June 16, through Sunday, June 21, at
Wintrust Crossroads Sports Complex in New Lenox, IL. The event begins with a coaches’ meeting, skills competition, and home run derby on Tuesday. Pool play will run all day Wednesday and Thursday, followed by bracket play and championship games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
