Skyhawks Sports is a national youth sports camp company committed to teaching children ages 2-14 life skills through sports with a focus on safety, improving sport skills and most importantly having FUN! We offer more than a dozen different sport options and have been implementing sports across the United States since 1979. Skyhawks completed its third summer in Milwaukee in 2025 and we are looking to continue our growth in our local communities. We offer you the opportunity to work directly with the Area Manager and Area Coordinator to create a customized learning experience, and gain practical hands-on experience in the sports industry. You will be introduced to individuals within the community recreation industry and will learn about different facets of managing a sports camp business.

We are looking for outgoing, passionate and self-motivated students who enjoy sports, business and making an impact on kids. A great experience for sports management, recreation, and business majors. Must be able to work independently and add value to an organization. Prefer students who are taking an internship for school credit. Internships will last three months and will be paid.

Customer Service – Our business is based on relationships. We will teach you how to effectively communicate, influence and interact with all types of customers, vendors, co-workers, and kids. From problem-solving to conflict management you will learn how to confidently perform in a variety of business situations.

Sales and Marketing – Sales and service go hand and hand. You will interact with our current customer base while helping build new relationships. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of sales situations and environments. You will assist with the creation and implementation of marketing initiatives.

Recruiting and Human Resources – Skyhawks will interview hundreds of potential staff and hire 100 coaches throughout the region. Interns will assist with recruiting and interviewing candidates for school-year programs. You will assist staff with the completion and compliance of required documents.

Inventory Management and Control – You will learn to utilize our equipment inventory tracking system and assist in ensuring all programs are adequately equipped.

Sports Programming and Coaching – Everything we do is to prepare for our sports programs; from after school sports to summer camps and clinics. We implement more than 400 programs each year in Wisconsin and you will work directly with children ages 2-14 in a variety of sports and environments. Interns will assist in the implementation of our sport-specific curricula while insuring the utmost safety for our participants and staff.

Technology – You will learn to use the industry's most advanced online registration and inventory management system.
