Lakeshore Athletic Services (LAS)
is hiring motivated, hands-on recent college graduates to join our event operations crew. This position is for you if you enjoy working outdoors, being part of a team, and supporting high-energy athletic events like road races and triathlons. We offer both local weekend work and regular part time travel opportunities.

About Us:
Lakeshore Athletic Services has been a leader in athletic event production for over 45 years. We specialize in race management, logistics, and professional timing services for road races, track and field meets, and triathlons across the country. LAS was founded by a former NCAA athlete and coach and follows principals built on teamwork, comradery, and persistence. Headquartered in Morton Grove, IL, we also operate offices and warehouses in Palmetto, FL, and Mesa, AZ. We work in cities across the United States including Chattanooga, TN, Louisville, KY, and Panama City Beach, FL. 

What You'll Do:

  • Set up and tear down race equipment and infrastructure such as tents, truss structures, event signage, course cones, aid station materials, crowd control fencing, and traffic control devices. 
  • Operate a variety of utility vehicles safely and effectively
  • Perform physically demanding event-specific tasks
  • Represent LAS professionally when interacting with clients
  • Work outdoors during early morning hours and in varying weather conditions

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (MVR required)
  • Willingness to obtain a Class C Illinois drivers license or drive trucks up to 26,000 pounds is preferred. 
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs repeatedly
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Problem-solving skills and a willingness to take initiative
  • Commitment to a zero-tolerance policy regarding drugs and alcohol
  • Adherence to all safety protocols and codes of conduct
  • Employees must be able to work safely and efficiently in physically demanding and fast-paced environments.
  • Early morning and weekend availability is essential. 

Physical Requirements: 

  • The role involves setting up and breaking down tents, barricades, signage, event equipment, and other infrastructure components.
  • This role requires frequent physical activity and stamina, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Employees must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver up to 50 pounds repeatedly for extended periods. 
  • Work is performed primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Competitive daily rates for weekend events starting at $180 a day with increases based on performance and driver status
  • Guaranteed daily pay plus per diem for travel assignments
  • Reliable part-time weekend work in the Chicagoland area until December 2026.
