Lakeshore Athletic Services, Inc. is a local Chicagoland business currently looking for summer interns who want to gain experience in the operations/logistical side of the endurance sport event industry.

We are looking for motivated individuals with the drive to gain experience in a professional setting. The goals of the internship program are to develop an understanding of event production from the vendor’s perspective, to communicate effectively in a client facing role and experience the hands on the day-to-day functions of scheduling and inventory management.

The intern will work directly with different managers and event leaders completing warehouses tasks, vehicle maintenance, and communicating with clients.

Lakeshore Athletic Services provides race management, logistics, and professional timing services to road races, track and field, and triathlon events throughout the country. Lakeshore Athletic Services has 40 years of experience in the Athletic Event Industry. LAS is headquartered in Morton Grove, IL and maintains office/warehouse space in Palmetto, Florida and Mesa, Arizona.
Job Duties and Responsiblities:

· Available to work in the office 2-3 times per week
· Available to work events on weekends in the Chicagoland area; or open to travel event work throughout the U.S if interested
· Assist with office duties that includes preparing and sending quotes to clients, creating load lists for the warehouse and updating staffing and inventory for the planning room
· Perform event specific tasks that are physical in nature, continuous lifting and loading working outdoors at early morning start times
· Assist in the planning and execution process of a wide range of endurance sports events throughout the summer months
· Help manage equipment needs and inventory and driving a range of vehicles

Qualifications:

· Recent college graduate or undergrad looking to fulfill internship requirements, and is interested in working in event management

· Proficiency with Microsoft office products
· Confidence to take initiative and problem solve
· Strong written and verbal skills
· Valid drivers license with a clean (MVR) motor vehicle report
· Adhere to zero drug and alcohol policy
· Compliance with safety policy and code of conduct

Compensation:

· Competitive daily rates for weekend event work
· Guaranteed daily rate pay for travel work plus per diem
· Steady office work paid at an hourly rate
