The Massage Therapist is responsible for providing optimal soft tissue therapeutic services in support of Vegas Golden Knights players.  This role will uphold the unifying principles of the Performance and Medicine Department and provide services that are player centric in construct and multidisciplinary in execution.  .  This position is an integral member of medical staff and is expected to nurture a close operational relationship with the performance staff as well as with all internal and external partners. The Massage Therapist will report directly to the Head Athletic Trainer.

Professional Practice Responsibilities
  • Deliver curative and preventative services that are quality in nature and relevant to the functional demand of the players at all training sessions, practices and NHL games
  • Stay current with professional practice, research, and evidence to recommend employment of interventions to elevate player healthcare and performance management
  • Support the department's daily operational needs are met with the highest possible standard of professionalism, care and ethics
  • Work proactively, communicate and collaborate with other performance team members (team physicians, performance coaches, nutritionists, mental skills coaches, athletic trainers) to achieve optimal health, wellbeing, and performance of the players
  • Ensure therapeutic interventions are aligned with medical direction or therapeutic plans of care
  • Support the delivery of emergency medical services that are aligned with established emergency action plans and are within the scope of training provided
  • Follow defensible documentation practices in regards to medical service delivery and communications. 
  • Supply a safety conscious and hygienic environment in your daily practice
  • Maintain daily communication, and established reporting parameters, with the performance team members and the coaching staff as directed
  • Follow all NHL guidelines associated with services supported or delivered
  • Deliver other duties as assigned
 
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
  • Massage Therapy licensure from State of Nevada; 
  • Valid BLS certification (additional emergency medical training and certifications preferred);
  • 2 years or more relevant post licensure work experience;
  • Previous professional or high level amateur sports experience preferred;
  • Ability to work in team environment;
  • High availability to travel; 
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written; 
  • Knowledge of the electronic medical records systems;
