Position Summary
The Graduate Assistant, Communications & Content (Vegas Knight Hawks) supports media operations, social media strategy, and content execution for the Vegas Knight Hawks and assigned Foley Entertainment Group (FEG) properties. This forward-facing role plays a critical part in shaping the team’s digital voice and managing media presence on game days. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented communicator who thrives in a fast-paced sports environment and demonstrates creative storytelling, strong writing ability, and ownership of projects from concept through execution. The Graduate Assistant reports to the Senior Manager, Communications & Content and collaborates across multiple FEG entities.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Assist in managing game day media operations, including creating and distributing credentials, as well as working with media members in the press area
  • Provide live social coverage during VKH home and away games across all social channels (X, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Adhering to established ‘voice’ on official social platforms with creative and clever captioning and posts
  • Attend Vegas Knight Hawks practices and serve as primary PR contact for the team
  • Work in the office on non-game days as assigned
  • Contribute and work with other FEG entities as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related field
  • 1+ years of progressive professional experience in social media/communications
  • Experience running brand/team social accounts
  • Prior experience working for a professional or collegiate sports team preferred
  • Strong sense of project ownership and dedication to delivering outstanding results
  • Basic knowledge of lighting techniques and audio recording
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred
  • Demonstrates excellent writing and editing abilities
  • Creative team player that works well within a group
  • Knowledge of social media best practices and website CMS
  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple projects at once and thrive in a fast-paced work environment

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation
  • Occasional standing, walking, and light lifting (up to 25 pounds)
  • Manual dexterity for typing, filing, and operating office equipment
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and written materials
  • Hearing ability to participate in meetings and telephone conversations
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required by business needs

Work Environment:
  • Primary work location in modern office environment with standard office equipment
  • Regular exposure to arena/venue environments with varying temperatures, noise levels, and crowd conditions
  • Frequent attendance at games, events, and entertainment functions in fast-paced, high-energy settings
  • Exposure to outdoor elements when traveling between venues or attending outdoor events
  • Work schedule includes regular evening and weekend hours during hockey season and special events
  • High-pressure environment with tight deadlines and multiple competing priorities
  • Professional business environment requiring executive presence and professional attire
  • May be exposed to loud music, crowd noise, and bright lighting during events and games
