JOB SUMMARY:
The Utah Mammoth is looking for an enthusiastic and creative Social Editor Intern to join our Content Team for the 2025–26 season. This role is centered around editing engaging video and short-form content to elevate the Utah Mammoth’s presence across social platforms. The ideal candidate is skilled in editing for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, as well as long-form pieces for Mammoth+ and YouTube. This is an in-person internship based in Salt Lake County, capped at 30 hours per week.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Edit viral short-form content for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts that capture the spirit of the Utah Mammoth and connect with our audience.
- Develop fresh, creative video concepts that align with current social media trends and drive engagement across the Utah Mammoth’s digital platforms.
- Utilize a mix of preexisting assets—including cinema camera footage, broadcast melts, and iPhone videos—to craft weekly short- and long-form content.
- Support the Team Writer/Multimedia Reporter with weekly edits covering team stories and features.
- Collaborate with the DIT team to ensure all shoots and game-night footage are properly uploaded and logged to the server.
- Assist with shooting various types of video content, including media availabilities, press conferences, and event recaps, as needed.
COMPETENCIES:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro) is required.
- Experience crafting social content across, particularly for short-form content, vertical content is required.
- Experience with Sony Cinema Cameras (FX6, FX3, etc.) a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to shoot and edit video content.
- Ability to light press conferences and set up a mixer and press box is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least two years of experience within video editing and or video production is required.
- A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing previous work is required. Applicants without previous work will not be considered.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Film, Media Studies, Communications, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to receive and apply feedback is required.
- Interest in the NHL is preferred.
- Ability to ice skate is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This person must be able to communicate and express themselves both written and verbally.
- This person must be able to observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
- This person must be able to sit, stand, bend, walk, and climb stairs for long periods of time.
- This person must be able to lift 30 lbs.
