Job Description
We are currently looking for a highly motivated college student seeking to gain hands-on experience in social media management and the sports media industry. Internships can be completed for college credit or for the benefit of gaining experience. Interns will work with the Director of Communications and Broadcasting, as well as the digital media team, to create and execute a media plan for the team.
 
Term
This internship will run from January 2026 through the end of the USHL season, concluding in May, depending on playoff results.

Responsibilities Include
  •  Assist with creating, scheduling, and executing content across all Muskegon Lumberjacks social media platforms
  • Help develop and implement creative social media campaigns to promote games, promotions, merchandise, and events
  • Capture real-time game day content, including photos, videos, Stories, and behind-the-scenes moments
  • Assist with creative planning and execution of game day promotions and on-ice entertainment
  • Engage with fans both online and in person by answering questions and enhancing the fan experience
  • Help gather engagement data and fan feedback to support social media strategy
  • Help organize and maintain a digital asset library
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Working towards a Bachelor’s in Sports Media (Communications), Sports Management (Business), or equivalent area of study
  • Experience with photo and video editing software is required
  • A reliable form of transportation
  • Strong knowledge of hockey is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work during all Lumberjacks home games, including nights and weekends
  • Ability to multitask and maintain strong prioritization and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely coachable and willing to learn every day
