JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Sales will lead all revenue-generating initiatives for the Madison Capitols, including ticket sales, group sales, premium seating, and corporate partnerships. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies to meet and exceed annual revenue goals while building long-term relationships with fans, businesses, and community stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive growth in season tickets, group outings, mini-plans, and single-game sales.
- Manage the daily operations of the ticket sales department.
- Identify, solicit, and close new corporate partnerships that align with the Capitols’ brand and business objectives.
- Develop custom sponsorship packages that deliver measurable value to partners.
- Manage renewal and fulfillment of existing sponsorship agreements to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
- Represent the organization at networking events, business functions, and community initiatives to strengthen relationships and visibility.
- Full menu ticket sales consultant, responsible for generating revenue through full season, half season, and group ticket packages .
- Prospect, identify customer needs and drive ticket sales through a combination of outbound and inbound activity.
- Welcome and provide exceptional service to groups on game days while developing lasting relationships with group event builders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key community members and organizations including attending local relevant events and activities to represent the company.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with team fan experience leads to ensure smooth operations and positive experiences.
- Ensure timely, clear and concise communications with Season Ticket Members, Group Leaders and prospects.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and provide assistance for ticket related issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive experience in sports sales, ticketing, or corporate partnerships — with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue goals.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven sports environment.
- Proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce or similar) and ticketing platforms (e.g., Paciolan, Ticketmaster, etc.).
- Passion for hockey and commitment to creating memorable fan experiences.
- Available to work all home games in market including evenings and weekends
