Position Overview
The Lincoln Stars are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Off-Ice Official to assist with all home hockey games throughout the season. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of in-game operations, including official scoring, stat-tracking, and timing functions.
The Off-Ice Official will have direct contact with the United States Hockey League (USHL) and is responsible for maintaining compliance with league standards and reporting requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of hockey rules and regulations, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately record and verify all official game statistics, including goals, assists, penalties, shots, and time on ice.
- Operate official scoring and timing systems in accordance with USHL standards.
- Communicate effectively with on-ice officials, league representatives, and team staff during live gameplay.
- Ensure all reporting and score sheets are completed accurately and submitted to the USHL following each game.
- Assist with pre-game setup and post-game teardown of scoring and timing equipment.
- Uphold the professionalism and integrity of both the Lincoln Stars and the United States Hockey League.
- Collaborate closely with the Manager of Gameday Operations team to deliver a seamless and professional game-day experience.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of hockey rules, terminology, and gameplay required.
- Experience with scorekeeping, stat-tracking, or timekeeping preferred.
- Ability to perform quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Availability for all home games, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- Skills in mathematics, statistics, and data entry are a plus.
