The Des Moines Buccaneers are seeking a creative, motivated, and reliable Gameday Video Intern to assist with capturing content throughout the 2026-27 season. This position is ideal for a college student looking to gain hands-on experience in sports content creation, social media, and live event coverage.
Responsibilities
- Capture video content during all Buccaneers home games at the MidAmerican Energy Company RecPlex.
- Film game action, fan experiences, sponsor activations, theme nights, and behind-the-scenes moments.
- Assist the Digital Media Coordinator with content needs throughout game day.
- Create game recaps and hype videos for use on social media platforms throughout the season.
- Create and pitch creative content ideas for social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and X.
- Help capture content for player features, community events, and special projects if available.
- Organize and deliver raw video files following games.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program (preferred majors include Sports Media, Digital Media, Communications, Film, or related fields).
- Experience shooting sports content. Previous experience shooting hockey preferred.
- Must own a camera and equipment capable of capturing high-quality video content.
- Available for all Des Moines Buccaneers home games, primarily on nights and weekends.
- Strong understanding of current social media trends and content styles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to take initiative and work both independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop) or other editing software.
- Knowledge of hockey is a plus but not required.
- Ability to think creatively and contribute new content concepts throughout the season.
