Cedar Rapids Roughriders Equipment Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY- RESPONSIBLE FOR EXECUTING ALL ROUGHRIDERS DAILY EQUIPMENT TASKS. ORGANIZE THE ENTIRE EQUIPMENT AREA, CLEANING, LAUNDRY, ORDER EQUIPMENT, MANAGE INVENTORY, REPAIR AND MAINTAIN EQUIPMENT. KEY TEAM MEMBER-INTEGRAL PART OF THE TEAM CULTURE & THE TEAMS SUCCESS.
Job functions:
- Communicate effectively with coaching staff, players, athletic trainer, front office, vendors and customers.
- Order and maintain detailed inventory of all equipment, sticks, skates, helmets, gloves Etc.
- Responsible for the cleanliness and appearance of the Roughrider dressing room, shower area and equipment areas.
- Ensure players are prepared for practices & games with regards to laundry- game & practice jerseys, socks, under garments, skate sharpening, other player equipment needs.
- Purchase required dressing room supplies, cleaning supplies.
- Communicate with and welcome visiting teams equipment manager.
- Assist with road trip responsibilities, loading bus, packing all required equipment, trunks, sharpener Etc. Equipment drop off at arena. Laundry on overnight road trips.
- Communicate with front office on all jersey requests for charity, auctions, sales, events.
- Attend all team practices, games, days, home/road, nights, weekends.
- Execute other tasks requested by Roughriders front office/Head Coach.
Skills, requirements :
- Preferred background in hockey.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience and successful execution as an equipment manager.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment- ability to multi task.
- Excellent Time management skills.
- Desire and ability to travel with team to road games.
- Desire and ability to work days, night, weekends, holidays, non- traditional hours.
- Ability to be mobile and stand for long periods of time.
- Able to execute Microsoft office, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to initiate communication with all members of coaching staff, players, league member staffs & front office.
