Internship: Summer 2026 Ticket Sales Intern
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, American Hockey League affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, are seeking highly motivated interns for the 2026 Summer Ticket Sales Program. This program is designed to provide hands-on, real-world experience in sports ticket sales with a strong emphasis on outbound prospecting, revenue generation, and relationship building. Interns will be required to work flexible office hours (typically between 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday–Friday). Schedule will be determined by departmental needs and intern availability.
Essential Duties:
- Learn and execute the full sales cycle, including prospecting, needs analysis, presenting solutions, and closing sales
- Generate new ticket revenue through proactive outbound sales efforts, including cold calls, emails, and prospecting campaigns
- Assist in selling & servicing of full membership menu, group outings, and promotional ticket packages.
- Prospect and identify new business opportunities through research of local companies, organizations, schools, and community groups
- Update client information in Ticketmaster Archtics and/or CRM platform as needed
- Research, analyze & develop new benefits, incentives, events & experiences for season members & group leaders
Requirements:
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in sports ticket sales or sports business industry
- Display strong communication and interpersonal skills, be self-directed and able to follow both written and oral instructions.
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Familiarity with customer service, cold-calling, & sales is a plus
- Neat and professional business casual appearance.
- Must receive school credit
- Must have own transportation to assigned office hours and events
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer proficiency
- Ability to lift items up to 30 pounds
