The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins are seeking a high-energy, outgoing individual to serve as the Backup Mascot for Tux, supporting weekday community engagement efforts. This role focuses on appearances at schools, community events, corporate functions, and partner activations during standard business hours. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about creating positive, memorable experiences while representing the Penguins brand.
Responsibilities:
- Perform as Tux at weekday appearances including school visits, community events, and promotional opportunities
- Engage with children, families, and community members
- Support community relations initiatives
- Maintain costume care, cleanliness, and overall presentation standards
- Represent the organization with professionalism at all times
Qualifications:
- Prior costume performance experience is required
- Energetic, creative, and comfortable engaging with the public, especially children
- Reliable, and professional demeanor
- Capable of performing in various environments
- Must be athletic and physically fit and between 5'8" and 6'2"
- Strong communication skills.
- Availability during weekday business hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
- Must be local to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area and able to carry out appearances in the city and surrounding areas
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must pass a background check
