The Property Maintenance Technician performs general repairs, preventative care, and upkeep for buildings and equipment at multiple locations. Position requires handling tasks from minor carpentry, painting, and groundskeeping while often using hand/power tools to maintain facility safety, function, and appearance.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Repairs & Maintenance: Fix electrical issues (fuses, outlets, cords), plumbing (faucets, drains, toilets), carpentry (doors, windows, furniture), and general building structures (walls, floors, roofs).
  • Preventative Care: Change filters, lubricate parts, inspect facilities and systems (HVAC, appliances), and perform routine upkeep to prevent breakdowns.
  • Groundskeeping: Clear snow/debris, maintain landscaping, and handle exterior property upkeep.
  • Installation: Install fixtures, equipment, and shelving.
  • Safety & Security: Respond to alarms, monitor security systems, and identify hazards.
  • Documentation: Complete work orders, record maintenance activities, and manage supplies. 
Typical Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical: Basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical skills.
  • Tools: Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, communication, time management, and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Physical: Ability to work in various conditions, lift, and handle physical tasks.
  • Education: High school diploma required; relevant experience or certifications are a plus. 
Work Environment:
  • Can involve diverse conditions, off-hours/weekends for emergencies, and coordination with other staff.
  • Position requires a background screening after a conditional offer is made to any candidate.
